Let me get something off my chest, though in the grand scheme of things I doubt it will matter much, but it matters to me.

I once loved the org so much I decided I wanted to be a moderator. I wanted to help with the up keep of this place. I wanted to make sure we could have a place where people of every walk of life, state of mind and location could share their myriad points of view,jokes, stories, lives in an open and friendly adult environment. I wanted to help preserve the beauty I have found here.

When I took the job I was under the impression Ben wanted to have a bunch of mods because when there was only one or two mods they were over worked. The addition of many mods was supposed to even out the work load and allow each mod the luxury of having a life outside of this place. As I have always understood it, mods were to have minimal involvement in day to day org life, but step in when things were out of control or a problem should need to be addressed. There seems to not be as much activity as there used to be or other mods take care of stuff before I get to it. I have a life, I have a demanding job, but I'm here most days and rarely do I have a chance to moderate anything. I guess that's good but when I do have to moderate ocassionaly people take offense to the relaxed way in which I approach matters. This bothers me, I shouldn't let it, but it does. I don't think I need to explain myself but I would like to anyway:

This is how I have always conducted myself, I am not the thought police. I do not lurk the forums looking for posts to snip and threads to lock. If a problem is brought to me or if I see something really over the top I take care of it in the best way I know how. I don't care if stuff is in the wrong forum, or if it's off topic...maybe I'm wrong for that but I care more about everyone having a place to express themselves then I care about how they do it. I am a fair person, when there is a conflict. I see both sides and I try to keep everyone happy. while still holding myself to my own standard of ethics.I'm diplomatic but for the most part I see most org drama as silly. I do not think heavy handed moderation is needed here. I'm not a babysitter and I don't think orgers need baby sitting. I trust you all to take this place with a grain of salt and a smirk. It's a web site, it's not life or death.

I post this so in the future if the Org Gods, should ordain me as the mod to review your requests you know what to expect from me.

Actually, the moderation here is great. One thing I think most peeps don't realize is that stuff needs to be reported to the mods as they don't read through every thread looking for broken rules. Ben trusts the mods to deal effectively with problems and I must say they, including you, do a great job. What we don't need are mods who act like Nazi youth. This would become just like NPGMC and just think what a tragedy that would be

I agree with everything you said!

I really do think that mods are really taken for granted here and people don't realize we really do the best we can. We sometimes make mistakes but we are human.

I have much respect for the mods that put in long hours out of the day to take care of our little utopia!
