Before I was moderator my role was to make the odd joke, argue with the Org trolls, and poke fun at the site's attention whores.

Now I'm a moderator my role is mainly the same as a school teacher, except without the teaching bit. "Wah! He called me a moron" "Wah, I'm leaving the site!". All that sort of thing

I also like to think I play no small role in ruining everyone's fun each day by locking naughty threads. Well, one does one's best. Eventually we're going to outlaw laughter here on the Org and our vision will be complete!
