I chose CherryMoon for a few reasons. 1. My favorite fruit of all time is cherries. (2) I had a black cherry red car and people started calling be "Cherry Red" (3) and obviously the Movie "Under the Cherry Moon."

I've had this name forever back when there was a Hammer's and PPML. It's suits me.

Well, my legal first name is "Matthew," and "Matt" is a common nickname for it. In fact, it's the name I generally go by--for the most part, I only use Matthew for "official business," such as when I'm doing something in my capacity as an attorney, entering into a contract, opening a bank account, etc.

Also:

1) I figured that if I didn't claim the name, someone else would--it seems that Matthew/Matt became a common first name in the 1970s and remains that way today.

2) Most (if not all) of the prince.org Staff uses their "everyday" name, so I figured I'd do the same.

One interesting thing is that some people at work have thought that "Matt" is my legal first name--never mind that the diplomas and whatnot on my office wall say "Matthew," my letterhead and business cards say "Matthew," and my name on our office door says "Matthew."
