Strange Rules

Okay, so I run a pretty popular official site for an official band that have sold millions of records..so I know how tricky it is to keep a forum in order. But I do have one question.

Earlier today I posted a question regarding Prince doing the splits. Now this is a genuine question to old school prince fans who were mesmerised by his dance moves in the eighties..some of us even copied them. I'm talking about his quadruple spit at the end of IIWYG on Sign O The Times or his backslide, twist around, split and spin during housequake.

I asked for some info on why he had stopped doing this and when he was last seen doing it and my post was banned! It seems amazing but it's true.

Any idea why? It's just plain weird.

If it is because the question is considered 'silly' then..well..you have wrongly dismissed his influence and importance when it comes to live performance and dance styles within the industry.

That's all. I'm looking forward to the answer.

It's a question that has been asked and answered (or debated at least) a million times on this site, there's bound to be other threads about it, go look. The difficult thing about this is that the search function on this site doesn't work but try googling it.

In short, most fans seem to think that ol' boy can't do the moves anymore due to health/physical issues and it does seem likely cos he's not exactly young anymore, you know?

That's hardly a reason for a thread to be deleted. This place has been around since 1996. EVERY question has been asked and answered/debated a million times.

Probably lol I'm just saying what I thought was the reason but yeah we do tend to rehash things... isn't that what life is though?

once again i ask, did you get an orgnote from a mod telling you why your thread was removed?

if yes, then did you orgnote the mod asking them to re-post the thread? or was this thread your first line of action?

I think the thread was removed because it seemed to be another "hip replacement" thread. There was a flood of threads not too long ago about Prince's hips, which got a little outta hand. At that time redundant threads about the topic were getting locked up or removed. However, now that the buzz has kind of died down on the topic, I'm not so sure it's as much of an issue.

Hi,
well, first off let me say that i didn't get an orgnote regarding the matter.

So, this forum has a history regarding members mocking Prince for having bad hips? I guess that's why it was deleted, the mod must have assumed I was starting all that business again.

Bit of a coincidence. I thought it might have something to do with that, and that's nothing to be ashamed of by the way. Maybe the human body isn't designed to take the amount of pounding and stretching Prince dished out in the 80's.
