Masks of Delusion. . .

Inside the mind,
a world exists
where freedom reigns
and time is dismissed.

Colors illuminate
computer screens
individualistic distinction
bonded by a central theme.

Cosmetic adornment
of cyber decor
to represent each
as they come through the “door”.

Friendships formed
in utmost trust
based on verbal depiction
and blatant lust.

Within the mind’s eye
lies insecurities
not in who they “are”
but rather how they’re perceived.

Alas~ the mask
is thus conceived
delusions of grandeur
yield intricate tapestries.

Yet almighty mask
what is it you prove?
More significant that “what”...
pretell...to “whom”?

Mosaic mask
of flamboyant decor
Have you the slightest inclination
what it is you stand for?

Secrets disclosed
that pull on heart strings
further entice
the most sacred of dreams.

Love and hate
in close proximity
defined by typed posts
Of on-line identities.

Why does the need exist
in the minds of our brothers
to don masks of delusion
to gain approval of others?

Is it worth the approval
of the “significant” few?
that don’t give a damn
nor truly care about you?

LOL... what you told me was that someone told you that I was fat, smelly, and that *I* needed to grow a moustache. I find that completely hilarious. I've never, in my life, heard that last one used as a putdown (and I've heard a few, trust me). So why would I believe the other? No one that *I* met would lower themselves to engage you in conversation. So exactly who could it be?

Thank you Ariel for your touching words, I will always be your friend, no matter what happens...happiness or sadness I am always there for u because I know u will do the same for me. That's what friends do, that's who I am, online or in RL... I am always the real me, I don't wear masks. It's a choice I've made, and I stand by it.
