Well I missed yet another argument here on the org. Sure we fight, but Ive never seen a moderator get dragged through it or an entire forum get closed.

As I said, I missed the argument so I will not comment on who i think is right or wrong. Thats not for me to say & I do not wish to offend with this thread.

All I will say is that lets take this time to cool off. Lets not sit here & let the org go away. Lets just cool off, clam down & start afresh when Ben re opens the forum

Fuck! Thanks to a few getting their knickers in a twist about nothing (IMO of course ) and kicking up a massive fuss, they have ruined it for everyone else.

IF they reopen the forum. For me that forum has brought culture together through fun - spontanious - discussion. The GD forum had 10 times more threads than the next largest forum is testament to that.

I don't think there was one singular or latest argument anyone missed out on... it seems apparant that it was an accumulation of things that provoked ben to shut down the General Discussion forum... I don't think this is the final word on the GD forum, it was and always is subject to change and reflective judgement on whether the need for it is validated or not... It's a pity though... but "if nothing else - things change."

Then, because the thread was in the wrong place at the wrong time when Matt decided 2 start cracking down on dumb threads, his was the first 2 go. This caused an uproar because shausler is like the teddy bear mascot of the org or some shit. People were upset at first and made threads about it (which were promptly locked) I did one, but I later cooled off, but a lot of people havent yet.

So shausler has left the org and is now relaying messages through 2the9s or who we think may b 2the9s, but we're not sure about that anymore either.

I don't think there is another thread...i think CloudMission is referring to the general feel of accusations and responses to Ben and Matt-either in Ben's thread or the numerous 'the org is dead', 'so full of shite'(yawn), and so on...

...Very good time to cool off and remember: this is just a web-site. It-hopefully-is not our lives. I'm-again hoping-our own lives have more pressing issues, work, school, relationships, family. Anyone who takes the Org's responses to Shausler's thread, and the subsequent deleted threads, so seriously needs to re-evaluate their priorities.

As much as I like Prince, there is just not that much to talk about.

I have had some really good discussions/debates with people in the General Discussion forum and am quite sad to see it go. I will sincerely miss debating science/physics/religions/philosophy and all of those other topics that were general discussion in nature.

It was fun while it lasted and I will really miss talking with you guys, even those who disagreed with me!

what's going to happen (i think) is because GD was shut down, people are forced to post on prince music thread and they are going to end up posting things that are off-topic (not about prince at all) because they are so used to talking about many different issues in life on GD. so it's just going to take the prince music threads off topic anyways.

I'm sad that the GD forum is closed for the moment but I respect the staff's decision. This is their site.

I'd say more but herbthe4's various posts have stated my own feelings (more or less) about this current state of affairs much better than I could have done myself.
