Peace y'all, JD Man, no shit. I can count on one hand the number of times I've said "fuck you" to somebody's face in a fit of anger, but here it's commonplace; almost expected. What are we, politicians? Talk show hosts? Somebody (I think it was, of all people, Jello Biafra) said "In a Democracy, people get the exact type of government that they deserve." The same is true here, although it should probably be worded "In an opne forum, people get out what they put in." I've said it before: people get REAL brave when they're behind a monitor. Everybody's a hard ass, which I find hard to believe. I mean, come on, we're Prince fans for Christ's sake. How tough can we be?  | |

I had been one of the few that said "watch out!", but from all the reactions, I concluded that I may have been a little too serious. I mean, even Ben was saying it was just a joke, so I thought I should lighten up and I did. Now I know some think "they have real jobs and can't monitor this place 24 hours a day...", but the OKP threads were absolutely starring anyone who visited the GD forum in the face, so I doubt they were hard to find and to close. People post in General Discussion simply because they want their post seen, not lost in some obscure section of the org that few visit.
I enjoy the general discussion of non-Prince stuff because it shows the huge variety of people impacted by his music. Its the people that treat the org like its a support group who need to be smacked. | |

I am just amazed that i'm being flamed by some of you for questioning the multiplicity of 0% prince-related threads on a prince-dedicated site...
If you wanna meet peopple and/or fuck, go to appropriate sites: hey, I like to fuck A LOT, but when I visit prince.org, I wish I saw prince-related news or threads on the front page, not those of any secluded little girl never going out of her room but using the org to claim she likes sucking dicks...If ya like them, then go find some outside your home baby (and if you live in Europe, then send me an orgnote, which were typically designed for such topics...) If you wanna talk soccer, go to soccer sites. This is what I do actually: I love soccer and could talk about it for hours. But when I come to the org, I don't wanna see a fuckin'thread on Bruce Arena or whatever on the front page... Having made these remarks, I'll try to be more constructive and take into account all opinions expressed here. Maybe the discussion forum should reopen but the corresponding threads would no longer appear on the front page, which would only be dedicated to prince-related threads That would allow occasional visitors and non-hardcore fans like me to visit a prince-related site named prince.org, while others would discuss whatever they want on the hidden GD forum. That would solve the main problem of this site, perfectly described by Dauphin above. | |
