Probably the best feature of this site was the General Discussion Forum...granted, there was some nonsense posted, however, it lended to the flavor of this twisted community we call the org...the greatest thing going here was that you could once start a conversation about just about anything here, that was before the moderators got a sudden case of Napoleon Syndrome...

The org is dead, right. I disallowed posts and new responses in the GD forum 45 minutes ago and you're proclaiming the site to be dead. You amuse me.

And it opposes everything I came to like about this place (see previous).
But maybe I have been missing some vital info on WHY it was shut down. Maybe someone can enlighten me...

What I have come to understand ALL GD threads are closed. This is what I am worried about. I understand this is Ben's site. But it seems so...rash, cutting off these threads. They were what made the Org so kewl to me. Read my first post and tell me what you think of those thoughts.

I think Ben's decisions was an excellent one - and I think those of us with at least some scrap of intelligence saw it coming a mile away.

Do you have any idea how much bandwidth the general discussion must take up? Did you know that high bandwidth costs money, and takes a shitload of maintenance? Perhaps the energy should be better devoted to, surprise surprise, discussion of PRINCE and his music?

The simple way to solve this, and remember I said it first, is to only have the GD forum accessible and readable my members and not guests and thats those threads do not appear on the home page. Forums are meeting places and it is wonderful to talk about anything with people who have the same interests. We all love this site (its all I use the internet for) and I want it to continue to be fun, there are some wonderful people on this site and it would be a shame to lose them and the life, fun and depth they bring with them. Lets not lose the element of fun, but lets all promise to keep it in hand. Lets all start again.

Bring back a proper news section.
I can't see any point in having so many forums (Music, Celebration, Concerts)
Have a Discussion Forum, but side line it, like Chat.
