scary? if that's scary to you... that there's a lack of free speech on some stupid website dedicated to some stupid pop star.... well, all i can say is that you live a very charmed life.

It's not scary to me - when did I say it was scary? It's kind of annnoying, having someone ban you from expressing an opinion.

Talk like that will get you banned. I was banned for stating I didn't like neo-soul as a music genre.

I just did shitty on the quiz, so now I'm pissed off, and willing to comment about this fiasco.

I like Hands...but she DOES get away with saying things that I CANNOT get away with.

She and I are identically blunt, yet she is excused, and my threads get locked or disappear.

There IS a double standard, regardless of how the mods want to explain it away.

simple: 99% of what i say here is in good humor, not to knock folks down. it ain't in what you say, but how. i've been on the org forever, and most people know how i am. like you, i don't bullshit around but i do know how to handle myself so it don't get to the point of no return. no double standards, no favoritism, none of the shit that usually gets whined about when it comes to moderation issues 'round here.

as for this thread: when people here learn how to talk about issues such as this in an adult manner (the majority of the population of this site is grown, but yet n'still...) and not have to resort to flaming each other mid-thread, then expect the mods to do their jobs and handle the stuff.

wanna see the "heavy-handedness" cease? then learn how to handle yourselves.

i was referring to the "influence" part..

for example, i read your previous post but the intent and message was totally lost because all i got was the blunt, curt, tude tone.

now imagine saying the same exact thing in a way that wont turn people off? you dont loose anything by choosing to use different words...its the message and the point thats important..and when people arent listening to you you've failed at communicating...

now some might argue that thats not your personality (btw: im now speaking in general terms..not neccessarily you) but i disagree...we all should strive to better improve how we communicate with others.....i know i try...sometimes i fail..sometimes i succeed...

at anyrate..i love talking about communication..it reminds me to continue working on my own skills....cause i too am prone to being blunt...but making efforts to consider the persons feelings on the receiving end of my words helps me tone it down.

you dont think your not letting people get to know you by contributing on the site?

sure its not on an intimate level but everything thats said is still reflective of who you are as a person...and people are going to form opinions of you based on what you say.

wouldnt you agree?

not really. like i said before, i've been around here for a while now. those who know me well can vouch for me that most of what i say is in jest. and if they ain't hip to that, they gotta lotta nerve about getting their feelings hurt by words on a computer screen.

so when we were posting in the "musicology-watered down thread" and you called my contributions to that post "bitchin" (as in all i was doing was bitching) ..that was just in jest?

how would i know this? there was no smilie faces.....no emoticans or j/k comments to aid me in understanding this...

you've seen enough of whatever i post to get a clue, so you should know better. study people.

now once again, leave me the fuck be and keep this joint on-topic for once. regardless of whatcha think, the org and whatever's wrong with it don't revolve around me.

wait a minute...why are you putting ownership on me? you yourself acknowledged that people wouldnt "know you" from simply reading your posts...yet you then expect people to "study you"? those are contradictions..

now, ive been posting for years and i still did not know that you were posting in "jest"..i was honest to god offended when you said my comments were "bitching"..but i let it be....it wasnt a big deal.....

and that isnt even the point im trying to make..the point im making is, i, someone who has posted for years doesnt understand your intent when posting things...so how do you expect other people to understand who have been here less, who spend less time visiting the site on a daily basis, or who are new to the site?

one final thing..sure you can tell people not to "get hurt by words" because "its just the net" but your dealing with real people with real emotions...imagine someone who's spouse or kid just died and they come to the org for a lil bit of escapism and you tell them "stop the fuckin bitchin"..we gotta keep in mind that we are dealing with real folks on the other end of these words.....you can make the same point without the "bluntness"

and this isnt pointed just at dansa..its pointed at all of us.....

and yeah..i think im done here....y'all have a good day now...

did i say you were? nope....but if your going to continue to offend people and refuse to even acknowledge you are..well, im gonna at least try to get you to see my take on the situation..doesnt mean you gotta accept what i say....or change...or even read what i post....im just waxing..

simple--you're the main person who keeps hounding me over shit. and what i said ain't contradictory in the least--if you don't know me or anyone else, study 'em.

now, ive been posting for years and i still did not know that you were posting in "jest"..i was honest to god offended when you said my comments were "bitching"..but i let it be....it wasnt a big deal.....

easy--pay attention. you can learn a lot from standing on the sidelines and by simply watching and tuning in, instead of immediately reacting. nod

one final thing..sure you can tell people not to "get hurt by words" because "its just the net" but your dealing with real people with real emotions...imagine someone who's spouse or kid just died and they come to the org for a lil bit of escapism and you tell them "stop the fuckin bitchin"..

makes no sense, because i'd never do that. there's a humongous difference between the death of a loved one and flat-out bitchery. and i'm fully aware of the folks at the other end, but i don't look to this site for mere escapism. others might, but i don't.

we gotta keep in mind that we are dealing with real folks on the other end of these words.....you can make the same point without the "bluntness"

sure you can. you gotta be willing to actually know how said bluntness is being portrayed.

the law as it applies to sexual harrasment has nothing to do with "intent" and everything to do with the reaction the actions illicit.

i look at offending people here the same way...

and your right, i do keep trying to get you to see my point of view on this topic...and i keep failing.

and i cant help but wonder if your name was EWM or Chemmie if we would all react differently. I dont know. Maybe thats why I keep trying....

bu like i said..this is all just waxing...its been a good discussion. and your responces do help me understand more this great science project called the org.

If this is the case then the Org is it's own dictatorship. That's just damn offensive - having someone tell me if my opinion "counts" or not. I'll go to another site.

so what you're saying is, if you were to start your own discussion forum - that you work hard to design, maintain, and that you pay your own money to keep online - it would be okay for me to come on whenever i want and post long, graphic stories about my hot mansex adventures and you wouldn't delete them (because that would be dictator-like)?

you would go through all that trouble to maintain a site on which i could be as offensive and bothersome as i like, and it would be my *RIGHT*?

so, like, if you bought a house, it would also be okay for me to come over, strip naked, and pee on all your furniture?!
