Ok...I'm sincerely requesting Matt to reconsider the locking of Shausler's thread. Sure he had a nonsensical phrase that started the post, but I don't believe it necessarily tainted the thread. It's not like he did the equivalent of running around the streets with a megaphone shouting obscenities--he didn't even use CAPS which is considered yelling in cyberspace.

Matt, if you feel it was that bad, look at the reactions of everyone on the thread you locked, ask Ben to look at it and tell me if this is as serious as the Oceana/sanddollar/harassment drama that had been going on the in recent weeks. Or the OKP invasion. Or the flame wars that occur at any given time.

It was a feel good thread that everyone on the thread enjoyed, no one was insulted, belittled or cursed out on, and everyone was looking forward to the next post. IMO, there's not enough threads like these where we can enjoy someone creating a bit of poetry.

Thank you for your time, and whatever the decision is, I'll live with it... (opening my 2nd story window... )

yeah...i mean shausler was just having some fun, and so were most of us around here...it was a light hearted thread...nothing serious that gave us a smile...i was amused.

if you're going to ban something...why not ban something that is offending many people? or a thread that isn't being enjoyed at all and has no posts listed?

Also, if you're looking to censor TRUE obscenities, or offensive material, you don't need to look far...off the top of my head, I can think of threads about women's breast size...oral/anal sex...and the list goes on and on...IMHO I think you thought this was stupid and wanted to get rid of it...there are far more offensive threads that need your attention.
