Forum-Ites: The New Superior Race?

Question. I’ve been away for few years and only recently started chatting again. Apparently in my absence there has been a paradigm shift. Once upon a time, the Org chatroom was on and poppin’! Everybody who’s anybody logged on and chatted for hours. Now, I’m lucky if there are more than 3 people at a time in chat room. The abundance of messages that read: “X just posted ‘Blah Blah Blah’ in the Yadda Yadda Yadda forum” was my first indication that the winds may have changed. Has the hardcore chatter become obsolete? Are the Forums the place to be? Are Forum “Heads” or Forum-Ites, as I will now call them, the new superior race?

(note to self: Post #1…just 333,000 more to go before I am fully assimilated into this new culture.)

Wrong forum. razz

Regarding your question though, I don't know if people chat less and post in forums more, but I know I definitely prefer the forums. You can post at your own pace, the post will still be there weeks later so you can refer back to it, a discussion can involve lots of people in different time zones etc. I think it's the ultimate way to communicate on the internet.

You're a mod aren't you? You need to patrol the chat more often, that way there'd be people there more often! biggrin

Basically I think that the people you're talking about kinda grew up. They got "real" lives now, with kids, job and shit. They don't have the time or the inclination to chat online. At least that's how it feels to me, but I'm NOT saying people who DO chat here don't have lives. smile
