OK - If you are allowed to "joke" around, and rub it in my face that as a Moderator you are "allowed" to "piss off" certain users - so be it.

Why not re-instate my account and let me do the same?

regarding the posts that got your account banned (and technically, if your other account got banned, your alter accounts should be banned as well), were you joking around with someone who knew you were teasing them?

that may be the difference.

the people i "joke" around with are people i trust and who have given every indication that they trust me, and know that i wouldn't purposefully say something to aggrivate or upset them. were you posting under the same set of confidences? if i asked someone who was at the end of your "wrath" lately if they thought you were just having an honest laugh with them, what do you think they'd say?

I don't know. Basically what happened, was I went on a thread asking what peoples thoughts were on neo-soul. I stated I didn't like it. I got backlash, so I retaliated. Should I have sat there and taken the shit of other people just because I didn't like something? If you look at my posts, I have been a normal poster on my opinion, and then someone has a stab at me for having an opinion, so I have a stab back and get told off.

I don't care what the other people think, I just hope they got a sterner warning, cause I've looked around, and they are doing it to other users.

By the way, I've just reported a few flames. It wasn't hard - there's nearly one on every other thread for cryin' out loud.

Dude, the mods are an intersting bunch.

One minute they're complaining about my threads, the next minute they're orgnoting my naked pictures and their phone numbers.

it's all true.

I just want to ask something without getting into trouble because I am not being a smart ass this is a real question. If it's ok for the mods to "joke" around with their friends who KNOW they are joking, but others who don't know them and think they are flaming someone, why is it different for others who do the same? What if someone reported it not knowing it was ment as a joke, but thought they were helping defend someone? And why do people get banned without a letter as to saying why? I know I am being a pain right now but I just want to understand better how this all works. ok that was 3 questions.....sorry boxed

actually, i'm REALLY glad you asked that because it HAS happened, and it will happen again in the future, i'm sure.

when two orgers are goofing around and play-flaming each other, usually it's obvious. when it's not, sometimes a concerned outside party will report the exchange as a flame war and sometimes we mods don't know any better and we take action. when we can confirm that it was just play, in MY experience anyway, i apologize, unlock/unhide the threads if we went that route, and just make sure the concerned parties know it was only a bit of horseplay.

people can be as silly as they want on here, believe me. it's when people start getting hurt that we step in.

nobody should ever feel like they are going to be prosecuted for discussing site moderation...as long as its done in a friendly and polite manner.

you raise a very valid point..one that the mods need to discuss in the backroom.

mods are human..ive let emotions get the best of me at times....then i calm down and try my hardest to not let that mistake happen again....

i think what should be noted is that mattperry's account was never banned..he was just a warned...

if you see a mod getting out of hand then report it to another mod....that way things can be worked out.

doesnt that mod deserve a second chance? just like mattperry received?

what surpises me though, a couple times ive said something like, "god damn..for fucks sake" and people have responded like i did something wrong....thats not a flame..thats just passion.

wink

You're not ALLOWED to have emotions, that's a direct contradiction to the word "moderate". biggrin There is a serious problem with perception on both sides of the equation. I also noticed that if you are not very well liked here, you do not get as many chances as others would.
That is just straight up bullshit.

Sorry but you're not allowed to discuss the meaning of the word 'moderate' and how it relates to the moderators of this site. I was damn near banned for doing that in this forum. TRUE! disbelief

lawd...so if you flame you're banned.....rolleyes

Someone made racist comments towards me and my reply was snipped and not the initial insult eek and that person is still here and we worked it out in orgnotes. That's what adults will and can do.

Ya'll doin' too much...all the flamin' that goes on.....there would be no org if you truly banned everyone that flamed.

I think sometimes the mod are a little biased towards some orgers. Some are allowed to get away with bs and others get banned.

the Org is supposed to be the site that's a little more "free" in regards to opinions, etc.....

maybe not.
