What's shameful is when people attack each other....and others join in just for the sport. Especially when most of those people wouldn't do shit face to face.

I come here becuase we can almost say anything we want to say.

I avoid at least 90% of the content in the General Discussion forum, but not becuase it's too lewd or vulgar (most of them warn us with a NSFW warning), but becuase there are too many posts, and I bore of the ones that rely on cliques and such.

For me it's never been about disturbing content. What I don't like is one a person shows themselves to be one dimensional--that is, disturbing content is ALL they are capable of doing. But I tended to avoid her threads anyway once I caught on.

I like provocative questions and discussion about adult sexual matters, but not pure raunchiness for its own sake.

Some of the subject matters on this site are so god damn immature it makes me puke. I sincerely hope that most of these threads are started by the teenagers on this site and not the adults, but something tells me otherwise. There was a thread a while back about how far someone's man could blow his jizz. I'm mean WTF? It's one thing to discuss this with your pals, but quite another to do so here. Threads like that just scream for attention!

Also, don't forget that many people start explicit threads simply to get a reaction from people. If you ignore them, they might stop, but unfortunately sex sells anywhere, anytime!

hmmm

I have to say, i'm kind of split on this issue. But I totally hear what Huey is saying, and if pushed, would fall on his side of the arguement, but for one reason, and one reason only. Because there are a handful of Orgers whom abuse the privelage of having the freedom to post within an exceedingly large range of topics.

That said, we mods do all we can to 'police' these, but it's not always so easy or cut and dried. So there's no real answer here, the issue itself lies with people who post topics specifically to get a reaction out of people - one orger in particular posts some pretty asinine topics, but that's just my opinion. Sometimes one wonders if they actually do have anything constructive or creative to offer the community as a whole.

At the end of the day what should not be overlooked are that the Orgers whom post these type of threads consistently, do so out of a desperate need for attention. I think that says more about them than it does the rest of us. It's just sad that they don't put as much thought into the community they are part of representing as they do making their childish posts.

I love the freedom here. Truly do. But I just feel ashamed when I encounter threads like the Sexual Misshaps-thread I just encountered in General Discussion today.

It makes me wonder...in what way does Prince Dot Org want to be known inside of the Prince community?

I know it is my own freedom to click on these threads and/or ignore them, but I am sometimes so ashamed of the level of weirdness I encounter here. If it is a question of freedom, why would Org want to be asociated with people who feel the ened to share this kind of info online? Just because Prince has been sexual explicit in his lyrics too? That seems too easy, even to me.

This is not meant as a flame-thread to the people who post on these threads. More power to them, I just am curious why a forum, dedicated to Prince's music, should be a stage for what I consider to be immaturity. I mean, 14 year olds come here and have to wade through this...

What up, Org?

lol Man, you've said your own fair share of dirty stuff on here, so... what up wit you? smile

i hear you. right now there are several threads in the GD forum created by one ORGer who seems unable to function above a 'poo/piss/cum/potty' level of creativity.

and unfortunately because this particular ORGer has an unlimited ability to create threads, the more interesting topics get pushed to the second page and die off, while the stupid thread is repeatedly bumped to the first page by its creator.

i really think there should be THREAD LIMITS. like, one thread per member per day. that way people would think twice before posting truly stupid topics. or, at least they'd only be able to create one per day.

I'm confused here.... there is a limit of 4 threads a day, each account, if I am not mistaken... the only people with unlimited anything are Mods and I don't think any mods here have started a thread about "poo/piss/cum/potty" at least in recent times. hmmm

and if this person has many accounts and that is how they are making all these threads I'd say...ok fine. Their choice of material may not be your choice, buy you can make as many accounts as you want and post "smart" threads left and right.... you just choose not to do that.

you're absolutely right Sweeny79. thanks for setting me straight. 4 threads per day it is. and i see that i was wrong in accusing this particular ORGer of only creating stupid threads. once in a while he doesn't. however, let's see what he created on one day, shall we?

And everyone complained that GD died! lol

What it comes down to is this:

There is a place for poo threads

and sex threads

and lyric threads

and photo threads

etc....

But it shouldn't be the whole of the covo here if the org is going to continue to be a place we all want to visit.

If you are going to complain about the content here, I feel your energy is wasted. It would be much more productive to think of things that you want to talk about.... go and start 4 "smart" threads a day.

Level the playing feild... if you don't attempt to make it "better" don't complain when GD is full of boring crude nonsense.

don't take it personally and get mad now, sweeny. i appreciate your lecture and understand that i, too, can create four threads a day about poo, but so far what i've done is participate on a thread about the content of the ORG and giving my honest opinion about poo fetish threads. really, that's all
