Local Referers...???? Please could someone tell me what a Local Referer is....
....and how to apply it.... 
....I still can not see these blasted avatars ....and it seems this is what is needed ...and if this doesn't work ....I give up....

Doesn't work mate, dont waste your time. It took me hours to try and sort out the avatar prob. I finally did it and afterwards, little red crosses. The org is ruined! Happy is he who finds out the causes for things.Virgil (70-19 BC). Virgil was such a lying bastard! | |

I don't think it's that ...they were working Ok before they went off originally ...and I do 3 seperate scans for virus, adware, spyware etc....each week... ....It's a mystery...

But still it's strange 'cause i think you're one of the few people that can't see the avatars I can't see them either when I'm at work, but I can see them at home. I just assumed it was something to do with firewalls or proxy servers or some other crap like that. Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP. |

It seems to be a problem between Norton Firewall and the current server....
..If I go to the server it tells me I need to apply a local referer...Hence the title of the thread... ...If I turn Norton off...The avvies return ...though they showed up before it was changed... ...If there's a way round it fair enough...but I'm not risking the security for the sake of the avvies....it's the same for the gallery btw.... ...Maybe something for FAQ's.....Some sort of definative guide.....
