some good news on the Twin Peaks front....David Lynch is really jonzing to complete the extra scenes from Fire Walk W/ Me...he wants to do it as a tribute to the late Jack Nance (since he was one of them...)...now hopefully the studios who have been fighting over the scenes will finally reach an agreement and allow them to be added as extras within a dvd release...

'Now hopefully'? so is this confirmed that studios are interesrted, or just rumour? Only ask as I know the first season of Twin Peaks on DVD didn't perform as was hoped, hence the lack of any follow up since - not to mention the odd legal wrangle here and there.

Still, Lynch did state last year that he'd 'never ruled out going back to Twin Peaks" So there's hope yet!

i just recently reviewed the analysis for Lost Highway and must say its still my least favorite Lynch film....

re: FWWM

my understanding is that two studios have rights to the film....domestic and foreign...(cant recall which studios they are at the moment)...the domestic studio has passed on forking over the dough for the missing scenes but the foreign company is willing to pony up....lynch has always said he would be willing to include the scenes as extras if he was able to finish editing and scoring them..both lynch and the foreign studio were all set to go but ran out of time so the dvd was released sans the scenes but the studio said that they would be willing to re-release the film at a later date with whatever lynch wanted to include..

so, hopefully now that he has a lil extra incentive we will get them....

btw: what the heck became of the cannes press release for his latest film...there was all this hype about covered billboards and what not yet i cant find a single report after they damn things were unveiled....errrr...
