Rate This Topic is the biggest joke. Its used as a game more than anything else. You have a topic like "ONA CD listed as im process" & it gets 200 votes with a rating of .05. That means it isn't an important topic to people who voted. The ratings indicate nothing except someone has a lot of time on their hands. Lets dump this option.

I agree. It seems that posts get rated sometimes on whether u like the poster who posted it & not their comments a lot of the time. Its a great idea but is often not used productively or responsibly.

Yes PLEASE KEEP the rate this topic option... lets just rate topics honestly... too much rubbish gets passed in here....I like a system to clean out some of the crap.

I don't mind the rating option. As long as you don't take it seriously, it is just a bit of fun. I don't think there is anyway people are going to honestly rate threads soley on their content and interest.

I *did* remove the "highest rated" section from the homepage... it was getting abused, I guess. I probably won't drop rating altogether, though.
