when taking actions within a forum that they moderate....i just want to clarify that last statement....

if a moderator isnt willing to self-censor themselves in a manner that benefits this sites community then maybe that moderator isnt fit to moderate on this website.

And times 1000 for sosgemini who took all the effort to try and talk to people who don't give a fuck. I'll lay it out there right now; I think Handclapsfingasnapz should step down as a moderator since she has absolutely no interest whatsoever in helping out newbies, in fact she despises them. That should hardly be appropriate in someone who should be impartial while working with the users on the site.

I contribute with my to newbies, I'm not in the chat much any longer but when I am I always end up helping newbies with the chat, how it works etc.

i still help those who are new, have absolutely no problem with doing so. but when you've been 'round here for as long as i have some people work your nerves. unfortunately as of late, some of the newer people who come on the site are included. y'know how many cats i've either had to pull aside and deal with or ban altogether? not every single newbie is here on good terms. that, and it's absolutely a chore and a half for me and people who visit this site daily to deal with those who are new and ask the same questions over and over, ad nauseam, and there's no functioning search engine or properly updated FAQs to steer folks towards. i'm currently doing my part to help alleviate that problem so the snatchiness towards newbies actually may be curtailed, at best (y'know how people dunno how to quit here sometimes), by having folks help out with answering oft-asked questions that i'm gonna put together as a new FAQ sticky/permanent link pretty soon.

instead of hopping on the omnipresent "that mod is horrible--off with their head!" bandwagon, how's about actually knowing what's going down as opposed to reacting to something that you read and treating it as the absolute gospel truth? being pissy towards newbies doesn't start and end with me or any of us other mods--in the beginning and in the end, everybody here plays a part. be the change YOU wish to see in the world (and cyber-world too, since we are online here). and before you cry foul on all i've said, don't take me for being mean. i'm simply being honest here. that's how i work. displaying honesty, brutal or otherwise, is by no means a violation of site rules.
