How about...

Optional Censorship?

A little option in the "My Org" page that changes all common swear words into ****s on the Org.
This would get it unbanned at my school nod and would allow all those moral orgers who want the org to be censored to have their wish.

Shouldn't be too hard to implement, my coding friend tells me.

Anyone like this idea?

They do it at my school to keep the teachers happy, so since I'm on holidays I can't give ya any examples...sorry sad

Basically, for people who don't have it checked, all swear words such as fuck, shit, cunt, cockbadger and pissflaps will be visible, but for people with it on, it's all ****s.

And it works like a charm, without any buggles.

Good Idea I guess. shrug

If there's a prioritization process, might I suggest this take a back seat to a search function or improved chat interface?

Nevermind. I come here for the personalities anyways. Better than cable T.V. smile

That's your basic VBulletin forum with a customized layout. I still don't know why the org was writted from scratch. Personally I think someone was a bit over ambitious. Given the fact that he's been able to write the codes for this site I think it would have made more sense if he would have used VBulletin and added a few hacks or even written some of his own. VBulletin has proven to be successful and at least the search engine would have worked properly. wink

VBulletin isn't shitty IMO. Very reliable and fully customizable so it would never have looked like just another generic VB forum. Someone like Ben could have done great things with it instead of trying to reinvent the wheel.

I dunno if they still do, but they used to have a feature like that in yahoo chat. It was called 'language filtering' or something like that.
