Missing posts in threads...how come

What is the reason if there are some posts missing in some threads. They have not been edited, neither by a moderator nor by the poster, they just have dissappeared eek eek eek eek eek . Some of them still show up as quotes by others, of course only if they have been quoted by anybody. The threads still show up in "my org" of the person who posted, but the posts are gone eek eek. They don't show up anymore as "Recent posts" by the orger who posted them either. At least one of the missing posts is one that was originally posted by a moderator. The threads are not locked either. I noticed this happening in 2 threads in the last days. Please one of the moderators explain, I don't wanna believe that this is an org policy as I have never noticed something like that on the org before sad

Thanks for posting lol

So can you please tell me if it is an org policy to just delete certain posts in threads without that you can see that they have been deleted e.g. without that there is that *snip* comment by a moderator?????

it's not out of the question. it can be done. sometimes when someone accidentally double posts the same thing, i'll "clean it up" and delete one of them. there have been a VERY FEW times in the past where someone posted something so unnecessary and toxic that i just deleted it - but that's only when th econtent is out-and-out offensive, and you'll usually know when i've done something about it. whip

Well in one of the 2 threads where I noticed something like that there are posts missing that were posted by at least 4 different orgers and like I said one of them is a moderator and the content of neither of these posts was offensive...So is there any other explanation what has happened? neutral neutral
If all these posts have been deleted by a moderator I really would like to know by whom and why neutral neutral

sometimes the system just screws up - i tried posting something this morning and the site just froze...i was able to get on to other sites just fine, but the org was just having a big brainfart or something.

maybe some mod DID delete something, i don't know. but i wouldn't jump to that conclusion. it could just as easily be a technical glitch, which ben could address much better than i can.

I am very sure that it was no technical glitch as both threads have been created by the same orger and the posts that have dissappeared are discussing the same subject. So it must have been intentional neutral neutral . Can you please tell me how I can find out which moderator deleted these posts so that I can ask why he/she chose to delete them (which is even worse than snipping as no one notices that they ever have been there). I am kinda devestated at the moment about what's going on neutral
