Locked?...why?? We were having an excellent debate..and it gets locked...what purpose does this serve??
I can't stand moderators sometimes....or should I have said "they"?? Good Lawd. The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who cannot read them. -- Mark Twain.

i didn't lock the thread in question (or at least what i'm ASSUMING is the thread in question), but i can make several educated guesses as to why it was locked.
first off, there was already a similar thread - started by you, dex - in the P&R forum. secondly, the thread in question seemed to be a reaction to other recent threads featuring heated debates on race, which seems like a bit of a superfluous undertaking. third, there seems to be a lot more volleying of heated emotions in these recent race-related threads than actual discourse. that may seem like a necessary valve on the org for whatever reason, but how many consecutive threads do we need to vent the same stuff? this whole mess is becoming more and more about semantics and less and less about the topic matter at hand. maybe some more thoughtful focus and a few less threads popping up could satisfy everyone. | |
