Fauxie brought up the issue of how dead the chatroom is...if my belief that people open the windows and forget about them is correct, the chat would benefit from some kind of alert that happens when someone comes in. Like a door-opening sound or an orgpop or something. Or maybe the minimized window in the toolbar could flash like an instant message does. I don't know how complicated this would be to do..

chatroom is not dead, chatroom is buggered. and when people go in and sit in a chat that is not working it is kind of silly... and makes the rest of us think it might actually be back on line... so we all trot in there. silliness

I noticed a lot of orgers use the same 2 or 3 avatars (except 9s ).
So how about a bigger storage space for avatars; say 150kb per user, good for 10 avvies. That way you can easily change avatars. Plus moderators only have to approve these avvies once. You don't scare me; i got kids

If you're using Photoshop, choose "Save for web" from the file menu, and save it as either a gif or a jpeg, adjusting the compression levels so you can get as small a file size without loosing too much image quality.

Err. yeah I know. Is reading a lost skill when becoming a mod? If I upload a new avvie then you or one of the other mods have to approve of this new one. Then the next day i feel like reverting to my former avvie. You again have to approve my older, formerly approved avvie. So I'm requesting that any user can have a couple of avatars uploaded, not just one. As said before, i noticed a lot of people, although they change their avatar a lot, it's usually 2, 3 or 4 favourite avatars which are used. It's easier for us to pick a new one and it's easier for the mods because of the lesser time spent on repeatedly approving the same avatars over and over again. Capiche ? You don't scare me; i got kids

Oh ok, I wasn't quite sure what you were asking for at first. Damn, I just got the third degree for that one, lol. Right now, when we log in, we see avatars awaiting approval. If programming in a few extra controls to maintain a collection of avatars is too much work (sometimes what may seem like the simplest feature, can involve a ton of extra work), maybe he could just allow newly uploaded avatars to show up instantly, and we can just remove whatever ones are a problematic afterwards instead. Honestly, 99% of the time, the avatars are fine anyhow. [Edited 1/3/05 13:17pm]

I don't think we need an alert when someone comes into the chatroom, since the message "[orger's name] has just entered the chatroom", automatically pops up on the chat text screen when a new person comes into the room. I think that is good enough, and doesn't need to be expanded on. But I have to agree that sometimes people are in the chatroom and forget that they are in there. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

If possible, when someone inserts an image into their post, include the width and height in the output. Right now, especially on threads where there are tons of pics like the Joyce contest, the thread is constantly shifting and jumping all over the place for several minutes until it finishes loading all the pics, which is really frustrating.

like that guess lindsey lohans age thread..that is too funny to let die from old age.. Or my Michael Bolton one that made me find out NO ONE likes him. That was funny..... the only thread of mine I remember was my "america" song by prince. I said it was patriotic shit or something. It got pretty out of hand. That was good fun looking back on it..... Some NEW mods up in this joint...STAT! This time let's try to get some less bitter ones. Hows about moi. I'm just bursting full of love. My threads may get locked or deleted without notice, which is completely unfair, but that ain't raining on my parade. You see, I got a new man in my life. So right now, I'm just oh so full of love. I'll be a fair Mod, trust me.
