yeah, so just skimming through this thread again..there's a whole lot of notions for thought policing. interestingly enough, it seems those who are big on this idea are also those who tend to be more liberally minded. the reason that seems so interesting to me is that i'd think liberally minded people - with all their talk of how the world should accept this and the world should accept that - would be the last group of people putting up rules to silence others.

ewm is not here anymore because people didn't like what he had to say. this fact is being disguised with the whole "it's not what he said but how he said it" defense. whateva, treva. i've been personally insulted and "attacked" in the p&r room many, many times. to be honest, its why i took a break from coming to the org at all (back when i used the name imnotsayinthisjust2bnasty). those who have "attacked" me are still here and, no doubt, will continue to be here because they hold the same opinions as those who are authorized to ban. the funny thing is, this is a prince dedicated site run by fans of prince. the idea that they would ban somebody for ruffling feathers is hysterical. thank God nobody banned prince for the same thing.

at the end of the day, however, it is just a website. when its no longer fun, people either need to take a break until things cool off or stop coming here altogether. its not a great idea to take things personally (though i'm guilty of this pitfall also) in an atmosphere where most people can only see things through their own goggles.

... anyway, the .org -bunny federation demands EWM to be unbanned. Exaggeration as an expressive means to get your point across or to make fun of the whole situation when nothing makes much sense anymore to human comprehension is a completely different thing than sheer hatemongering. I do the former myself all the time.

This whole thing is rather...sad. Sosgemini, I've always lauded the work that you and the other mods do. Keep up the good work. Now for the rant:



Don't let the info in my profile fool you. I've been coming to this site for a long, long time. I've witnessed the antics of countless orgers who are no longer here (banned) and those that were placed on disciplinary action. I understand that many are still loved and missed but the site has rules that need to be followed, even though I myself don't necessarily agree with some of those rules! EWM, just like a few other beloved orgers banned within the past few years, consistently broke the rules after they were repeatedly warned/notified by the moderators. No matter how much we find such behavior entertaining, or "controversial" as it's often called, it shows a complete lack of respect for Ben, the moderators, and the org members who do try to abide by the rules. The orgers who engage in such tactics know exactly what they are doing and continue to so because they are paranoid, insecure, and in desperate need of an audience. As Sosgemini has emphatically stated, "There's a way to communicate your point."

EWM was always good for a laugh. That mofo is crazy as hell! But there's a way to get your need for attention met without blatantly breaking the rules.

I can honestly say I hope they let dude come back, and if he does that he can chill out a bit.

And for the record, the mods don't owe it to any of us to tell us when or why they ban people. It's called "discretion", and many an orger would still be here if they'd used it.

over the past few years---so what can u expect.

I cant' believe this thread is still going on... You got banned, so what.... Get over it! I can name a few people who have gotten banned a NUMBER of times.. most of the time it was for NO reason.. Its life.. and most of the time it isn't fair.. Sorry to say,...I do believe some mods have hard on's for certain people and ban them and use an excuse to back it up, some dont even respond.. which i have to say.....(that is the best.., ban THEN run and dont give any reasoning for it... ) I call that chicken shit! But in any case, before i go and get warned i am gonna be quiet now..

In any case, so what you got banned, come back again as a new alias.. everyone else does it!
