We're looking over both the list of recent mod actions each day, as well as comments about what some people feel is heavy-handed, biased moderation, and taking both sides into consideration. Having to sift through the name-calling and ignorant remarks, to get to the important issues, isn't exactly fun, and it's not helpful either.
If people decide to leave the site, and chat somewhere else, what's there to say? The web is huge, there's hundreds of thousands of bulletin boards discussing everything from illicit porn, to Three's Company, to bible study. If you find your niche somewhere, kudos to you.

Remoing icky pictures - fine; Suspending people for personal attacks - fine... Locking threads from "newbies" because you've heard it all before - not fine; Banning people because you don't agree with their opinion - not fine; Censoring posts which discuss events which you'd rather sweep under the rug - not fine. I used to moderate a forum which was much, much busier than this one. It wasn't any kind of effort whatsoever.

I used to moderate a forum which was much, much busier than this one. It wasn't any kind of effort whatsoever. There were two lengthy threads about current concerns on the org. Many of the moderators chimed in on these discussions. Both Matt and Ben concluded with detailed explanations of reason for the ban, and their thoughts on it. For the record, I've suggested to the other mods, the idea of leaving one forum entirely un-moderated, as it's been done on other sites like foofighters.com, for the sake of the remaining forums. I agree with you 100% about addressing things such as "icky pictures" and "personal attacks". I love porn just like the next person, but I don't come to the Org looking for it, for example. With regard to threads from new orgers being locked for being redundant - I'm not sure which threads you're referring to, but at the time I'm typing this there's currently a 94 East thread, as well as a "Was Prince on Drugs?" thread, and it's only a matter of time before another "Is Prince Gay?" thread pops up, but none of them have been locked. bkw said: I will answer this question seriously as a member of this site that has been here for 5 plus years and posted squillions of times.
I think that the org has taken a turn for the worse. I think that it has become a confused and unwelcome place. It has much to do in my opinion with the heavy handed moderation that occurs here. The banning of 2the9s has been a watershed moment at the org for many of us. I dont know why The Frog left exactly but I do know that before he did that he was obviously displeased with some things here. Just think of how many people have left over the last few months. There are many, many missing orgers. There are also many orgers who would once be called "prolific posters" who barely post here anymore, if they arn't already banned. Prince brought me to this site but it is the people who make me want to stay, but that pull isnt there if those people arn't here. The org will live on, and plenty of people will post shit about how what i posted is melodramatic waffle. That people always come back blah blah blah. But the truth is that many dont come back and ths place is worse off for it. p.s I'm NOT suggesting that The Frog left because of the recent org drama, but it probably didnt help. [Edited 12/12/04 1:05am] bkw is right on point!!!! this is how it is right here!!! if anyone says the org is the same or will be just fine I can only agree with them if they let everybody back!!!!! otherwise it will never be the same and the folks at housequakes theory and opinions about us have all come true!!!!! the truth hurts ! they're probably leaving because they're sick of the bitching and moaning. hearing it, or doing it. "Awards are like hemorrhoids. Sooner or later, every asshole gets one."

While certain people may be mentioned there, and moaning about said people may take place, you can't seriously be saying it's the same disgusting, homophobic, racist kind of thing we saw on Quaidbowl. Faux is out to lunch.
