is it like that? because i keep doing it but that red x keeps showing up. i preview my post to see if it shows up and it does, but when i post it doesn't show. do i need to right click or something?

You're doing it right. But not all websites allow outside linking to their pics. Some will only let you see the pic on the original page that it is posted on.
