Is the org going broke like housequake (apparently) is?

Ben - Are you going to be asking for donations? Or maybe you have been and I just haven't noticed it? nuts I'd hate to come to the org someday only to find it shut down!! omfg bawl

How DO u pay for all this, it looks like an incredible amount of work (not to mention some fairly xpensive hw and sw to run it all)! Well, however u do it, thanks for your efforts!!! bow

I've said it before and I'll say it again.... set up a place where I can donate, and I'll donate.

Sure, it won't be much as I am flat broke right now, but I'll give what I can, and when I finally get a job (just graduated, looking for work this past month) I'll give more.

Update: Here's the answer I got to the email I sent to housequake.com:

"It was not financial problems that closed us down. It was technical
problems. And then suddenly our provider wanted to raise the fee
enormously. So now well find another provider."

Hopefully they can find one that isn't too xpensive. confused Still seems strange, I didn't notice any "technical problems" up until the big shutdown, and I was spending a lot of time there every day, grabbing pics and videos. shrug

I remember the issue was raised before - and warnings from provider were given as HQ became bigger. While they have to searh for a new "home" they are thining of the possibility of extending what you can do on HQ (longer and more pm's for instance).

The are doing a survey to check wether there would be enough people willing to make a donation to do this. So, conclusion;

or;
1) HQ comes back as it was but with a different provider.
2) HQ comes back better then before with a different provider.

Nikster - friend of mine logge don the org this morning - couldn;t send org notes or post (said the quota was reached) then she relogged in and it said she was deactivated! NO warnings - never even been edited in posts - is there something wrong with the Org? What should she do? I'd org note you... but those aren't working either.

Not sure what you guys are talking about with logging in... BUT the orgnote problem seems to be ongoing. I fix it every couple of days. Really frustrating. I might do a database (software) upgrade shortly in an attempt to fix it.

Anyhow, as far as the org "going broke"... no, we're OK. Yes, it's not cheap to pay for the org, but clicking on the ads actually does help us pay for it. And I am employed again, so it's not as big a strain as it was previously.

Thanks for the offers of donations--there will be a way to do so in the future. But for now, just enjoy the site and please try to be patient with the little problems, like orgnotes getting flaky now and then!

Thanks!
