discography Wasn't this site, at several points in time, going to have something like a near-complete discography? Sleevographia is great, but it's only vinyl. Ben, anything like this possible? It would be a great addition.

I say the obsessed collectors from the org should all get together and figure out the entire discography. I would be curious to see how it would look like. I've visited many Prince websites, and thought I knew about all his releases, till I became a member here and started hearing about bizarro bootlegs. *************************

Thanks, Aaron Yes Aaron. Ben and I even had the database schema mapped out, and were ready to start programming....then the cease and desist letters came. We wanted to do a complete discography that included lyrics, and really included Boots as well. We haven't talked about it in a while, so I don't know if Ben still wants to put the effort into it or not. It really is the only thing missing from the Org though... Personally, I would like to have a link from each event to the "live recording" that it is captured on...but I don't think Paisley would allow us to do that. One of these days, Prince is just going to give up, and embrace the Boot/On-line market, and when that happens, you can bet that the Org will be there to provide the information on all of the music. |

I'd love to do a discography, and in fact WILL at some point... it's just a lot of work and I haven't had the time. The massive project Kevin is describing will probably never see the light of day--too ambitious! But something simpler, will.
We'll have bootlegs, too. There's nothing illegal about discussing them. Lyrics... another story. I need matt to double-check a lot of the legal research I've done to come up with a suitable disclaimer... but one day, we'll have that too. Ben ben -- "the prince.org guy" |

Ben here is a good disclaimer that i think will get your point across to prince's lawyers: leave us alone, why don't you go make sure all the pillows at Paisley Park are fluffed up instead! :p | |
