2nd Show Added For St. Paul!

check it out, twin city orgers...from here:
Prince adds second show

March 22, 2004 PRINCE0322

Ten minutes after tickets went on sale Monday for Prince's concert at the Xcel Energy Center promoters decided to add a second show.

Ticketmaster posted the second show on June 17 on its Web site after tickets for the June 16 show began selling fast.

Jack Larson, general manager of the Xcel Energy Center, said Prince's recent media exposure led to the quick sales Monday morning.

``It is great for the city of St. Paul to be able to host Prince from his hometown in this market,'' Larson said. ``Going into a second show so quickly ... we are thrilled.''

Prince will open his first arena tour in six years next Monday at Staples Center in Los Angeles. After the first show there sold out, Prince added two more dates in May.

Fans who buy tickets will get a bonus - his new CD ``Musicology.''

Minnesota-born Prince was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last week.

Instead of camping out to the box office, your best bet for good seats may be to park yourself at a computer with a cup of coffee. Log on early at www.ticketmaster.com to get ready. Then at 10 a.m., jump electronically into line.

Another trick of the ticket trade: Call Ticketmaster outlets in other cities, such as Rochester (507-252-1010). You'll usually get through faster than if you dial the Twin Cities number (651-989-5151). If you still want the dubious thrill of waiting in line, but in the comfort of indoors, try a Ticketmaster outlet, including Mervyn's or Marshall Field's stores.

All of these methods yielded better seats in a Star Tribune experiment a couple years ago. The one hitch: You'll pay extra fees.

Man, after all the additional charges, the cheap tickets from Ticketmaster only end up being $9 cheaper than the better NPGMC ones. If I decide to go to the second show, I'm just gonna wait for the member sale.

Stupid npgmusicclub.com is broken. I paid the $25 to join to buy the pre-sale tickets for the second St. Paul show only to not let the website open up for me. There is no customer support either...by the time they let me into the club the pre-sale will be over.

I just happened to log on to Prince.org this afternoon and saw this, went over to the music club and the tix were on sale. Got mine! I might go with my wife the first night and my son the second. He just turned six but loves Prince. He was at a couple Paisly Park shows and Target Center shows in 1997 when he was in his mama's belly! Woo-Hoo I can bring the whole family now!!!!! biggrin biggrin

KFUNK.,....Yeah....2.....the....No.....I received tix to the second concert in St. Paul but unfortunately my brother and his wife did not. NPG music club took his money when he registered as a new member of the club but it did not recognize him as a new member. Hence, he could not pre-order the tix. Customer service blows at NPGMC....

I received a message that said the following:

High,

Please login to purchase your tickets

NPGMC

My response was I would if your website would recognize the logon id. It don't take Stevie Wonder to see they ain't got a clue as to manage a website over there.
