"Awesome" is the word 2 describe "the ride" if any of U took it, on Sat. the 9th. at the CUBBY BEAR in chicago. ( The new CD presentation party ) Julian played "last", but BUT NOT the "least" talented of the artists playing that evening, by any means. There were 2 acoustic guitar players, 2 heavy metal bands AND of course Julian. He played some "prince" tunes we all love, like: Darling Nikki, Controversy, Baby, I'm a star, The beautiful ones ( which was very cool ), and Little Red Corvette ( which rocked the house, as he extended it 4 quite awhile ) He also played "his" own art. Especially aweome was "Johnnies gonna make U Dance", played last, but got almost EVERYONE up & "feelin da funk". ( another LONG extended version, kept about 15 girls on the stage "shakin their pants" along with Julian & his VERY talented band. ) This was my 1st time seeing him perform & we had a 3 hr. drive there & back, but was well WORTH it. Met some very "cool" prince fans, and we all had a blast! I now own his 1st CD and it will probably will get worn out soon. ALL the songs R Too FUNKY!!! Looking 4ward 2 his next CD out at the end of this month I believe. Anyway, catch "THE RIDE" if U havent already, & IF u have, show ur "love" on this thread! ( He will B doing alot more shows in the midwest. I believe he's booked Aug. 23 at "the quest" in Minneapolis. not 100% sure ) Thanx again to Dawn, who made the evening even MORE fun!!!

I do agree with you in the fact that "The Ride" was the BEST band of the night!! and we all needed more time...everyone was wanting more and they were shuttin the place down!!!- Julian pushed it to the limit as usual - meaning... he will get the place pumpin and the girls all riled up- pull em' on stage- great audience interaction- and stay up on the stage as long as possible doin what he does best..performing!!!

so glad 2 C more fans along for "The Ride" !!!

I agree Dawn. We DID NEED more time. His time "up there" was 2 short & the last song he played was "sooo" funky it only got us started! But they saved "the best 4 last!". ( his band, that is! )
