Highlights for me were when Andre brought up Dr. Fink and Bobby Z to play on When You Were Mine and Judith Hill doing 3121 and talking about doing the video for Cry, Cry, Cry in the soundstage at Paisley Park. Alcohol was served and they had pancakes later in the evening. Sorry, I didn't take any pics.

We had a great time. Once in the soundstage area, things started a bit slow but the dance floor became crowded once Judith (and her parents) took the stage for her set.

I loved it when Omar invited folks from the charity onstage to talk about Prince’s love for community. I know that they collected a large quantity of donations from this event because it was all stacked up in the parking ramp lobby.

The absolute biggest surprise came after the champagne toast when Shelby J and NPG took the stage. They sound SO good and the energy was crazy. Amongst other songs (some of which included a full horn section), they performed Purple Rain and to me, it was the closest rendition that I’ve heard since Prince’s passing. At the end of the song, they asked us to turn and look at the lit Prince symbol, to sing, and to keep his legacy alive.

And yes, the pancakes were really really good. The syrup was some butter/butterscotch/maple awesomeness. I want some more of them.

Depends on how one looks at it... I didn’t find it to be weird nor cult-ish.

Anybody who was there was free to walk out at any time.
