About this EventMorris Day is a legendary multiplatinum recording artist, musician, composer, arranger, and singer who is best known as the lead singer of The Time. He has enjoyed a highly successful solo career as well. He costarred with Prince with a breakout acting performance in the blockbuster Purple Rain. Day resides in Orange County, California.
Dr. Scot Brown is a leading scholar of African American history, popular culture and music. He teaches at the University of California, Los Angeles, and is the author of numerous publications. Dr. Scot Brown has also served as commentator on National Public Radio, Sirius/XM Radio, BET/Centric, TV One, VH1 and Cinemax.
