quick PP question/thoughts Wanted to reach out and see if any of you had any thoughts or insight on this, and please fogive me if this has already been discussed as I have not been to "the org" in a bit. Anyway, I am planning a trip to PP in Aug with a small group, mostly family/close friends. But I am certainly the only "freak" in the group. lol. So my question is this, I am a bit concerned about the potential of what my emotions might be upon going through PP. I have been there a few times throughout the years, but my first time since "you know when". Now, I don't think I'll have a meltdown, but I was just curious how some of you did upon visiting there after his death? Thanks

Don't worry about how others will judge you. My husband has taken me on the tours twice now as birthday presents. He isn't a Prince fan but respects that I grew up as one and love his music. So if these people care about you they will be there to support you. I didn't get emotional but it was surreal being there this time without Prince taking the stage. Just stay present and enjoy the experience for what it is. If you get emotional that is ok too.

Hey, thanks for the response. Yes, the folks that are going with are, and will be, very supportive, but was just curious to see how people responded to this "smack of reality". Again, I very much appreciate the response and your insight.

Yes ofcourse. I can't say how you will feel going there ( even you may not know until you are actually there) but it was fun to walk around and see all the Prince stuff you remember from videos and movies. My favorite was seeing his white coat from the Sign Of the Times movie when he did "IIWYG" I loved that preformance/concert film so much so it was a trip eyeing it in person. It was a great experience. Go for It!

I've been there 3 times. 1st time was the worst. (2nd day of tours...october 2016) I mean not bad type of worst. But just the hardest on me. It still smelled "lived in" I guess you could say. Plus, I was shut in a room with Kirk Johnson for about 20 min. Made for an interesting tour. When I went that time, the urn was right down in the middle of the atrium floor. So way different than it is now, up high. Also, I was one of the last groups that got to actually SIT at the piano and have my picture taken. So the first time was definitely different than the last two I've been there. The last time, just a couple months ago, we did the after dark dance party. PHENOMENAL!! Do that if you can!! It's a blast!!!!

My daughter was with me. She was just waiting for me to explode. We talked. He gave me a hug. Shook my hand. Nice guy actually. Just wasn’t ready for that.

I went under similar circumstances - smsll group of family and friends. I was the only Prince freak in our group. I got choked up and teary-eyed in the atrium when i saw the doves, then again in the PR room. (There are boxes of kleenex everywhere.) Then at the very end watching his Super Bowl performance on a large screen was too much for me. I couldnt hold the tears back and had to duck into the bathroom for a few moments. Everyone was cool about it. It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. We all need one another. ~ PRN
