After visiting Paisley Park...

I am still overwhelmed. sad I took a trip to Minneapolis with my fiance this past week and had a blast. We saw all the local prince sites and even saw the Revolution at First Ave (which was so so much fun)!

We did the Paisley Park VIP tour which was overwhelmingly wonderful and left me feeling so morose. bheart I'm trying to remember to celebrate what he's given all of us but I'm still having a hard time. It was so overwhelming to walk around his private home and know that he is no longer with us. Obviously none of us live forever but I have still had such a heavy heart with this.

Have any of you had a similar experience with the tour/visiting MN? I feel like my heart has been broken all over again.

Admission is easy, just say you believe and come to this place in your heart... <3

I did the VIP + Brunch on Sunday..

I arrived on the property and security said I was too early. Another guard pointed me to the "tunnel" and said there was a lot of memorabilia down there. I cried the whole way down there with it hitting me he's not inside creating anymore. Such beautiful dedications!

The tour itstelf was great and I wish I could have taken twice as long. I got so wrapped up in all that he was and it engaged all my senses. On the way out seeing that piece of the memorial fence brought it all back hard! It's like I almost forgot during the tour, it was like being whacked in the head to know all of a sudden.. this is why I'm here and got to see so much more of PP.

I've been to Paisley in 2013 and 2014 for shows and only got to see soundtage / NPGMC.

Minneapolis is a wonderful place. I will go back, I see why he stayed there. Got to see Electric Fetus too which is among the best ever record stores. Thank u Prince is all I could think over and over. If it weren't for the wealth (quantity + quality) of his creation it would be so much harder.

Yep felt the same way when I did the VIP tour. I think I was the most overcome wen in studio A just knowing that’s the place he loved most. And when they played a snippet of the music he was working on with Adrian, MonoNeon, Kirk and Donna...the music was so cool. I want to hear more of it. sad

LC, I feel ya. I was quite emotional but I think it is something we all should try to do if at all possible.

ea1313 I agree with everything you've said. I was there on Monday morning! I found myself getting so engrossed in the tour that I felt I had to remind myself, "Hey! You're at PP!!" lol. Minneapolis was such an awesome city too, we loved it. Very easy to see why he loved living there. And Electric Fetus was incredible. I felt like a kid in a candy store there! I too could only think how much I wished he was still here but that we all have so much to thank him for. He was such a Godsend. We are so lucky to have what he has left us! So many memories and so much beautiful music and imagery.

PennyPurple, I cannot recommend it enough. It was an expensive trip but one I will never forget.

I went for my 30th birthday I did the VIP tour with my sister it was an amazing experience, our group is very small. I have to agree it was very overwhelming I will admit that I broke down a little bit on the tour but I held it together for the most part. It's an amazing experience but it also helped give me a little closure with a lot of things that I had hang ups on that maybe I probably shouldn't have had. I would definitely love to go back and because I know what the general admission tour was like (passed a large herd) no matter how many times I am able to go back I'll always do the VIP tour because it's just a much better experience in my opinion a lot less people a lot more detail if you get the right tour guide and Our tour guide was perfect she was amazing.

I am going to try to go next year. I am going to have surgery in Oct. Which will require 3 months of physical therapy and rehab. hope to be well enough in the summer to go. I have the money but not in the physical condition. I already know I am going to cry when I see that urn. I may start crying in the parking lot. I am so looking forward to it.
