Paisley Park Concert Screenings They are not showing concert screenings anymore on Saturday night, only DJ. Really disappointing, but I think there is more behind it than them just deciding not to do it anymore. This is something that Prince wanted, so hopefully they can get it together. TRUE BLUE |

It's beyond disappointing:( I came such a long way hoping to see a concert. While it was great to be inside PP listening to music in the npgmc, the DJ was just terrible. Of the 3 hour set I heard, there were maybe 5 smooth transitions from one song to the next. It was one cringe worthy train wreck after the next. I don't mean that to be rude. Its just true...they really need to sign him up for DJ lessons or just buy software that will beat match at the press of a button. |

to be honest, even though i've been reading the reports about events at Paisley Park and visiting the place vicariously through this website and others, i haven't been back to Paisley Park since before it opened as a museum.
someday eventually i'll go back, but the circumstances of Prince's death and his subsequent franchization/legal battle/chaos and disorder somehow weigh on me and the place could never feel the way it was
no doubt it would be healthy to make new memories by visiting the museum and an afterhours event but in my head the word 'museum' still turns into 'mausoleum' for some reason.
motherfunka, how have you dealt with the challenge of once-upon-a-time having been in the place where (i know we were both there all those nights too) Prince used to walk around the room, work the soundboard and sometimes come out onstage and play for us.
remember?? mr. sparkle shoes? as opposed to now when the event at Paisley Park memorializes echoes of another day? how do you handle that?
The first few times it was very difficult, especially with the not so knowledgeable tour guides. I kept going back for the concerts. I love seeing the unreleased footage. There are still some familiar faces around there, people that worked there before. To be honest, I think going out there as much as I have has been healing in a way. I still catch myself looking out of the corner of my eye expecting him to be in one of his regular spots. It's still not easy. I doubt it ever will be. I saw your question yesterday, but you forced me to actually think about how I do it. The first time I saw him in Paisley Park was in 1992 in the atrium coming off the elevator. The room was dark and the door of the elevator opened and all this light lit up the room and out he came. The last place I saw him was sitting on the stairs in the Love 4 One Another/NPGMC room listening to the 2nd Atlanta show. I try to avoid that area now. TRUE BLUE |

I can't imagine what y'all who went to Paisley Park multiple times when Prince was alive are going through, especially those who live nearby. My biggest regret is that when I rejoined the Prince clan, late on his Lotusflower site, I was offered a ticket to go see him perform at PP. My friends told me to go, but the notice was so short and I had never been to Minnie/Chanhaussen, and the weather was cold...I decided not to go. Now, I wish I had.
