Paisley Park announces there will be a Celebration event next year

Aprl 19-22, 2018. So I'm guessing as long as Paisley Park is viable this will be an annual event. I kind a hope they shake it up a bit and have different formats and not always the same guests.

Well, yeah, they made a lot of money this time. :-/ $550 for general admission, $999 for VIP (which sold out). It's a lucrative deal.

I don't think they'd be announcing another event if they didn't think it would sell out. I'm sure it's not cheap to host something like that.

I agree. They wouldn't announce it if they didn't it would sell out. Like I said, it's a lucrative deal. But it really only caters to those that have money to be able to throw away. For those fans that don't have that cash flow, they are left out.

I like that this will keep his name out there and at his home, a place he loved so much.

As hard as it might be for some to celebrate others are enjoying it. (I myself am not there yet) I hope Prince will remain celebrated...

I love the idea of annual celebrations/pilgrimages attended by Prince fams from around the world. Remember, when Prince was alive, the vast majority of his fams were left out of his concerts and live performances. Even if they could afford tickets, there were never enough available. That's just the way it is...

The city of Minneapolis did a pretty good job supplementing this event. There were things for people to do even if they couldn't attend the Celebration event. I just hope non-die hards will still want to celebrate once a year. What will make me sad is when people start saying they're sick of hearing about Prince.

This is a wonderful idea.

As for people getting sick of hearing about Prince, I believe we are still only at the beginning of our way "up" where that is concerned. My hope is that never happens - if anything, out of respect for the wonderful life he lived.

Thanks for all the information lately Rogifan. You've really been on top of things this week.

I had an idea for a Convention, and i think a few other orgers did too. This is pretty much that. Hopefully next year I can make it.

Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another

I had a fantastic time and it was very cathartic. My wife and I will be in attendance again next year.

The city did a brilliant job. I tip my hat to you local folk. So friendly and funky.

Me 2...1,000 percent hope to go back. Just hope the Paisley (PRN) Family gives us a good few months to recharge our bank accounts. Hoping maybe they go on sale late November or after. Makes a nice holiday gift too. A must for even the most casual of fan....if there is such a thing LOL.

Nice they announced those who attended this year will have the first opportunity to purchase.

The City did a remarkable job I might add. I had a surreal time.....so blessed to have been there with you all!
