How about January 21 and they show his last shows at PP?

I could be up there either time! What do others think? Which is the better date?

I wonder if PP, the family, or others will schedule any events in the MPLS area around either of those dates? Maybe we will need to wait a bit and see before deciding which date would be better?

Well check your emails we just got an update from pp looks like some new things MAY be added.Also i dont want to go there in bad weather.Springtime seems better.And they will prob have something special being its the one yr anniv

I am conflicted on both these dates for I feel they are both good times to go and there will probably be events held by the family and his associates around both these dates. Man - I want to do both dates but I live way to far to do that.

Um, I vote for April 21st and I can try to get out there on April 20th. When I go I plan to stay for some days to absorb the area and PP as much as I can.

Will the lovely fam be ok for the 21st of April. Will be even harder for some on that date.

If these are the two datesi better start planning and saving some money. Just to add i want to stay about 3 or 4 days and check out the Twin Cities, Lake Minnetonka, Electric Fetus etc.

I am not gonna lie it will be hard for me to go on April 21st, but it is hard for me to stay away now just seeing all the pix and reviews from the org fam on going to PP. I wanna go now, man - and yes start saving the dough!

Any of those two dates are good for me. I want see if others can all get on the same date. Yes am from a cross the pond But it is something i always wanted to do and wished i had done it years ago and seen him perform there. I just need to be there inside PP and say thank you to Prince.

You are braver than I am, lol! Some years ago I went up to spend Christmas with my aunt & uncle who live NE of St. Paul. OMG it was cold!!

Ok so lets start this way.Apr 21st or june 7th i want to come apr 21st.Next hotel room if we reg as a group we dont have to pay til we arrive.Flights please search for the cheapest flight on different browsers.aLSO PLEASE SPEND THE 25.00 OR 30.00 FOR TRAVEL INSURANCE.We can do this fam.Now many went as individuals but,we need to go represent.I want to visit from the 20th -23rd.Maybe silly to some but,i want to go on the day he crossed over to say 'prince job well done my brother and as always we got you.

I'm sure Orgers will show up both days.

I'm not sure for me. Probably June 7th, if my daughter will go with me.

Personally, I'd like to go when he was gifted to us, not when he was taken away. So June 7th would be perfect. I want to remember him when he lived not when he died. But I am sure there will be events and people going around both dates. IMO Peace, love and continued healing 2 u all.

I would prefer doing something in June. I don't like celebrating death dates. JMO

I know what u guys mean but,you have to read his thoughts on death being about celebration.June 7th i fear will be a only celeb type thing prob Without org invites js.And will prob be overcrowded.

I'm intending to go in June. April, it's still too cold up there and I can't fathom trying to celebrate the day he died. I'm still holding back tears and we on month 7 almost....smh

My only concern about April is the possibility of snow. I looked at some historical climate data and the April temps are not much below October. But I don't want to be doing any "winter driving." Been there, done that, that's why I moved to a warmer climate, lol. Other wise, I was leaning toward April...

Agreed! I think celebrating his life on the day of his birth, not on the terrible tragic day he was stolen from us is more fitting.

Yeah, that's the big question: will there be any special events scheduled around either of those dates?

I have a feeling we won't have the answer to that question before PP tour tickets for 2017 go on sale. According to the PP website, that will happen in "mid-November." So those of us looking at April or June might have to decide without knowing what will be going on. And PP tour tickets around those dates might sell quickly.

And whow knows, they may schedule events again in October on the anniversary of all the events this year! Plus of course Oct. 28 will be the one-year anniversary of PP officially becoming a museum...

I'm still leaning toward April. I'll probably be out there for 5-7 days but I have family in the area I will also want to visit.

When you go, are you planning to travel around the area and visit various Prince-related sites? Such as former homes, First Avenue, etc. ? You could easily spend two days doing that stuff alone.
