The estate dropped the ball. It's quite simple. They pre-sold tickets based on a gamble, and now it's bitten them. The fams will blame the City Council members, but it was the estate who put tickets on sale without having zoning approval.

I thought about that as well.

Let's hope they get it done. Today would be preferable!

They had zoning approval just not the City Council's approval.

I just watched CBS Minnesota via Twitter and a member of the Chanhassen City Council said that the management company for Paisley Park were told they'd be selling tickets "at their own risk"!!

Come on now! The risk quite clearly has fallen on the trusting Prince fans who were unaware of this. If it turns out the management company knew there was a risk all along then that is completely out of order!!!

Following @kare11 on Twitter - it now seems that the city is working with PP management to issue some type of permit to accommodate fans "this weekend"...not sure exactly what or when that is, but it's at least progress in the right direction...

U can be the side effect, I'd rather be the dope.

No, they had planning commission approval of a zoning request, which zoning request also requires council approval. Hence, until the council approved the request, there was not zoning approval.

[b]OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM CHANHASSEN CITY COUNCIL

I can't believe Bremner Trust sold tickets knowing that the risk would always fall on those that parted with their money!!

That's the least they can do... Issue a temporary permit allowing those who already bought tickets to go on their scheduled tours until PP management and the city counsel straighten this mess out. The best immediate solution IMO.

The official statement from Chanhassen says that there will be another vote on December 20th. It doesn't matter who is to blame. The only thing that matters is that it has been five months and there still have been no memorial or proper send off for the fans. All that we had was that beautiful fence and now that is gone. Sad day for fans, but they can't take Paisley Park away from us. I hope to see many of you at that fence next week.

on or BEFORE December 20th it reads. So its not certain that this waits until then. It could happen a LOT sooner. Especially after today and how much pestering I have a feeling the city council has received

"All questions regarding ticket sales should be directed to PRN Music Corporation or Bremer Trust, N.A." Oh, that's great. What's their number? Oh, that's right, they didn't give us one.

If this is true then I am pleased!

.

It's disgraceful that Prince has barely passed and people are already dividing his assets, ripping up Paisley Park, demanding his vault be exploited and leaking tracks!

.

Enough is enough!

.

People need to stop and think.

.

There should be at least a year with no activity. Just reflection and time for all involved to think carefully about how to approach things.

.

The only acceptable activity would be to examine very carefully what Prince was intending to do next. We all know about the HitnRun series and the Live Piano CD. So these should have been the priority after enough time for reflection - research may have revealed plans in motion or even track listings.

.

The last few months have shown many fans, familty members, gold diggers and band members to be exploiting the situation to their own gain - not all, but some!

.

As for the shite coming from Brother Jules - this is a travesty!!!

.

I just hope Prince is in peace!!!

.

sad sad sad sad sad

From my experience with Councils it means the next meeting in December will discuss it again, it doesn't mean even then it will get the green light until all their concerns re safety & traffic are met. This could go on and on....

I had hotel and car sorted, but had the finger hovering on the button for the London to MPLS flight. Once I saw the fiasco around the 'official' memorial, safety mode kicked in (eg learnings from London SOTT tour, Blenhiem Palace, Crystal Ball, Lotusflower, Piano and a Mic) and I cancelled.

Same people managing things, same results.
