These were planned well before Prince's death, but now they takes on a different aspect:

Both of these events are in Houston, at High Volume Music Live. That's located at 8305 Almeda Genoa - Suite K, just west of the intersection of Almeda Genoa and Monroe - not too far from Hobby airport.

1. CD release party - Collective Hallucination featuring Ant Boogie releases their newest CD tonight, April 30th. Ant Boogie is well-known in Houston Prince circles, having sung with Prince and Tamar, among others. I've heard the CD and it is jamming but I can promise you the setlists of all performers tonight (there are 4) are going to be heavy on Prince. I can absolutely guarantee you the opening act is playing nothing BUT Prince, because I am the opening act, and I'm not playing anything but Prince! Doors open at 7; music starts at 7:45.

2. Party for Like-Minded People - This is Ant Boogie's annual Prince party. This year, it's Saturday, June 4th. There will be more Prince music than you can shake your stick at, including a live performance by Prince cover band The Breakdown (who are VERY good). Ant Boogie always delivers, and many local celebrites always show up. Tamar has played this party before.

Synopsis

With the sad passing of one of the greatest, most inspiring artists and performers in musical history we're going to celebrate the life of Prince Rogers Nelson in style on Friday 6th May from 6.30pm.

We'll be screening his classic movie Purple Rain as well as the Sign O' The Times concert film from '87 on the big screen as well as welcoming a host of amazing artists to our Bar Paragon stage. There'll be DJs, cocktails and surprises on the night and a percentage of profits will go to Black Lives Matter.

Alas, I'm going alone as my Prince fan friend who conveniently lives around the corner is going back to Ireland for the weekend. I can't get anyone else to go at such short notice but couldn't miss it.

I would advise you to buy the tickets quickly, as the party for 7 june was sold out in only a few hours. As far as the English is concerned, most people at that party will be Dutch speaking belgians and those all speak pretty good english.
