A Tribute To Prince - Jazz Cafe, London Sunday, 25 Aug 2013 at 7:00PM TRIBUTE TO PRINCE + VERY SPECIAL GUESTS
After the sell out opener of our tribute series back in May with Stevie Wonder, we ramp it up a notch this August with a night dedicated to the man who has produced 10 Platinum albums, and over 30 top 40 singles, the man, the artist, the symbol, the legendary Prince. As usual we will have an all star band providing the music, with a whole host of special guests to keep you dancing right throughout the bank holiday weekend. / http://mamacolive.com/thejazzcafe/listings/upcoming-events/9031/tribute-to-prince-very-special-guests/ / Does anyone know anything more about this, or did anyone go to the Stevie night back in May and has an idea what this might be like?

Hi, don't know what it's going to be like but I'm going anyway I have an extra ticket if anyone's interested (it's not sold out or anything but someone else cancelled on me so you would be helping me out if you'd buy it of me).

I'm going 2 this with a friend. I'm still on a purple high from the Montreux gigs & need another fix. Apparently the Stevie tribute went down a storm. I've checked out the performers & all are excellent vocalists. As Prince is in town wouldn't it be amazing if he made an appearance!!

It'll be alright. 3rdEyeGirl is in town so the PR for this may actually go astronomical, even if it is 7pm in the evening... Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!

I was at the Spreadeagle on the far outside table from 6.50 till 7.45??? We all had an amazing night. Great vocalists & a well rehearsed band playing early dirty purple funk!! Totally amazing & funky night. A DJ playing Prince would have been nice as a warm up. When questioned the staff were oblivious?? Instead peeps just hung around the edges listening 2 noodling jazzcrap

Amazing night with the most funky, tight band / group of performers I've seen in a long time! Just reviewing some clips and personal highlights were: Head Let's Work DMSR If I Was Your Girlfriend Strange Relationship Shhh Manic Monday Purple Rain Raspberry Beret I Wanna Be Your Lover 1999 I Feel For You Controversy A Love Bizarre Let's Go Crazy Kiss ... okay pretty much the whole gig Thanks to all who put this night together and played / sang their asses off... we want you back!
