Seattle ORG Invasion August 2nd 2013 part 3
Seattle ORG meet up part 2 August 2nd 2013 New thread. Old one closed.
Come meet and chat with your fellow Orgers on August 2nd 2013 at 8pm at local club TBA.
Okay, I'm the organizer of this meet up and during the day, (for the out of towners), we will be doing typical sight seeing stuff, Space Needle, Pikes Place Market, and a traditional ferry ride.

I recommend you buy the city pass when coming to the city.
With the city pass you get to go to all these events:

City Pass prices vary from 50 to 124 dollars right now the site says it is 74 dollars. (citypass.com)
Just to go up the Space Needle is 24 dollars!
I'm trying to get a lot of discounts for a lot of events-But my sources are slow at the response time. I'm also looking for some really cool and off beat things to do. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

City pass sounds like a great idea - if I have time I'd like to do ALL those things, like a proper professional tourist would - who's with me? I'm the mistake you wanna make

I'd like to make a small request;
Can you recommend hotels that are in a good location?
The problem I always encounter when trying to book a hotel is that we can view comparable prices but have no clue as to whether or not these places are in a nice neighborhood, out in the boondocks, or in questionable areas.
Also - if one of us finds a great deal on a room, maybe we can share it on here?
I'm hoping to make it to this.

My sources are slow on the hotel hook up. I was trying to get a cheap deal before posting info. I will be staying at the "W" hotel. But it's pricey. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

I also recommend going to the Space Needle during the day (So, you can see all the mountains , water etc.). At night you can go to Queen Anne hill to see th city and the Space Needle lit up at night. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

They also have the full-scale space shuttle trainer. It's the shuttle the real astronauts practiced in before they used the real one. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

I'm going to do the pass too.
I also recommend the Museum of flight over doing the Woodland Park Zoo. The zoo is fine, but there are far better zoo's in the world. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

Seattle's Seafair will be going on the weekend of August 2nd. So the hydroplanes will be racing, the Navy will be in port, and most likely the Blue Angels will do an air show (Depending on budget restraints per fed govt.). So, book a room in advance. How long before should we aim to plan a more detailed itinirary? I can see these being a fairly jam packed few days! How many spaces in your vehicle? I'm the mistake you wanna make
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I can put 4 additional people. But, if we have to, we could rent a bigger vehicle.
As for itinerary??? Probably have to wait to see how many of us want to do the pass. Every thing else we could go to and see can be done at anytime. I'm on vacation for about 11 days. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

Vehicle???
I assumed we'd be doing the public transportation thing.

We can use my car-public transportation stinks here in Seattle. We have expensive cabs and buses that we wait forever for. The cool thing about Seattle is that you could literally walk form the space Needle to Pike Place Market 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

Hey, is this just for Seattleites? I was born there, but I live in Monmouth. It's 4 hours or so away for me. Is that OK? I drive south to Bandon all the time (5 hours)! My mom will prolly want to go to. [Edited 4/25/13 20:19pm] No matter the ©️, Paisley Park "official can never ™️ . He gave that to us verbally on Oprah in 1996.
