On Sunday, September 11th 2011, something very special is happening! Something so funky and "ALL THE WAY VOGUE", it'll B a nite you'll never 4get! Hosted by Tony Moore& Myles Matisse! The night is Produced, arranged, decorated and DJed by yours truly, Myles Matisse.

THE fDELUXE RECORD RELEASE PARTY (formerly known as The Family)!After a 26 year wait, St. Paul Peterson, Susannah Melvoin, Jellybean Johnson and Eric Leeds R back with a brand new CD that continues the legacy not only of The Family but of the Minneapolis sound & true funk they were instrumental N shaping in the 80s. Prince is the mastermind behind the formation of The Family and wrote all but 1 song on the album, arranging, producing and creating each song. Now, with fDELUXE, St. Paul, Susannah, Jellybean and Eric have taken complete control of the band, renaming themselves, yet retaining all the funk and MPLS sound of The Family we love so much!

2 add 2 an already funk-ilicious night is the live music of FUNKY SOUL BROTHA! He'll B bringing it full stop with TWO live sets of Prince covers & other related jams: one at around 10pm and the other around midnight.

This fDELUXE Record Release Party will spotlight all of the music & visuals of fDELUXE as well as the music, videos & live clips (from their only 1st Avenue gig) of The Family, their previous incarnation with Jerome Benton in the mix. This being a most special night, U just never know who might show up 2 represent!

Special raffle giveaways will happen that nite of surprise fDELUXE goodies which include 2 concert tickets 2 C fDELUXE along with Special Guests Wendy & Lisa @ Largo on Friday, September 23rd. Other possible giveaways include fDELUXE t-shirts, commemorative tour books & more. Details R being worked out.

Also, being raffled off will be DVD copies of Alexander O'Neal's live DVD "Live in Minneapolis" (produced by Bobby "Z", mixed by "David "Z" & edited by Joey Rivkin/Bobby's son). Also, raffled will B copies of the re-release deluxe edition of Andre Cymone's "AC" album, released 4 the first time on CD. Raffle tickets will B available throughout the nite with Rita, the lovely door lady 4 $1 a ticket. The more U buy, the more chance U'll have 2 win!

Mixed with the music, visuals & videos of fDELUXE and The Family will B of course Prince, Jam & Lewis and related including clips of Alexander O'Neal's new live DVD, "Live in Minneapolis". More music & videos in the house will B: the Minneapolis funk of The Time, Sheila E., Jill Jones, Alexander O'Neal, Cherrelle, Apollonia 6, Vanity 6, Jesse Johnson, Morris Day, Mazarati, NPG, Chaka Khan, Sheena Easton, Cat, Madhouse, The Revolution, Dez Dickerson, Wendy & Lisa, St. Paul, Ingrid Chavez and...U get the idea.

The club will B decorated as always with lots of memorabilia from the Minneapolis sound era, past 2 present. Think Paisley Park meets Flyte Tyme with fDELUXE & The Family being the center of attention. Posters, paintings, album covers & pictures.

Having the fDELUXE Record Release Party on a SUNDAY was the only date open 2 me, so I had 2 jump at it. Being that it's a Sunday and not a weekday, there'll be no rushing from work in LA traffic 2 try and make it. Also, since it's not until September, that gives U plenty of time 2 put your vacation time N now so U can take Monday off 2 enjoy the entire nite, cause the club will B all the way live until 2am!

FYI: Because this is such a very special night with the release party of fDELUXE, the live performance by Funky Soul Brotha and the low $5 cover, the VIP list isn't in the mix this time. By paying the cover, U'll B showing the love which will help me 2 be able 2 keep showing the love 2 U all & bringing the music of "Minneapolis"!
