I just noticed this upcoming event at Night & Day, Manchester. The event description is a bit bitchy though, considering it's a night dedicated to him... for instance, why bother screening Purple Rain if it's such a "travesty" that you'll need to buy cocktails "to help you get through it"?

are flaming lips playing dark side of the moon at the telescope? they've been playing that some nights and a different tracklisting on other nights. there are a few recent recordings floating about the internets
