Hey Lax. I will post some choices of things we might like to do in the next week or two so we can make some choices on activities. Or if anyone has suggestions of stuff they want to do suggest away.
Don't hesitate to ask any questions.

I would definately be interested in going, but I don't have a driver's license, so when I GOT there, I wouldn't be driving anything. I do nothing professionally. I only do things for fun. johnart: Acrylic's old bras is where tits of all sizes go to frolic after they die. Tit Heaven.

I'm taking the train, but I hate being without my car. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

See, I know how to drive, but I don't have my license and I'm terrifying on the road. I live right in Connecticut, so it wouldn't be too bad GETTING there... but what about once THERE? That's what I ponder. I do nothing professionally. I only do things for fun. johnart: Acrylic's old bras is where tits of all sizes go to frolic after they die. Tit Heaven.

We have a minivan.
We will metro into DC for whatever we do there. If you were staying right near us in Springfield we could figure it out.

This is what I think I'll do over the next few weeks. Talk to my pain-in-the-ass job. Check my finances (which should be in order). If all of which goes well: Check trains and/or flights and hotels. Then ORG note you.
I really do need to get away; and that is right around my birthday. What better way to spend it than with you lunatics? I do nothing professionally. I only do things for fun. johnart: Acrylic's old bras is where tits of all sizes go to frolic after they die. Tit Heaven.

Thanks, I will have to get back to you still. My mom's health has gotten worse so I really can't plan for anything right now. If I don't make it I look forward to hearing all the tales that are allowed to leave DC. OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!

I've never went on a real tour of DC, so I'm game...
I'd love to do something from the "A-A Experience" list...
Also, "Show Tunes Sing Along" sounds like TOO much fun! "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

Maybe as part of the DC tour we should do one of the top deck bus (double deck, whatever they're called) guided tours. I believe they have them that take you around to all the monuments. If we're walking around a lot that day, that might be a nice way to not drop dead and be able to get more into the day.
Another suggestion: Rather than try to figure out a club or something for the evening (we're not big clubbers so we are not familiar), we could return and party at our place. We could maybe get some catering (Z Pizza is great for a spread) if we split it it's minimal). We could make a likkur sto' run on Fri night and have our bar set up and waiting for us when we come back from DC. Crank up the Priontz music.
I will go with whatever folk want to do tho, just throwing it out there as an option. [Edited 7/31/10 11:12am]

I like the tour bus idea! So much fun! I've lived in NJ my whole life, and I've never done one in NYC. I might do it this month while I'm off.
The party sounds good! I just saw that sing-along thing and got tickled!
Whatever... I just can't wait to meet everyone! "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

Your ideas sound great, John. I've been to DC a few times, but I'd still love to tour it more. And I'll happily contribute to the liquor and food setup. Can't wait!

Well... My train is supposed to come in around 2. If John isn't available to pick me up (He Offered! ), I will take a cab. I also just called the hotel and found that I can take the Metro to Springfield from Union Station, and the hotel has a complimentary shuttle from there.
Guess I'll be packing light! "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

Would it help if we all tried to coordinate our arrival and departure times somewhat? I don't mind taking a cab or subway from the train station either.
What time is everyone planning to leave on Sunday? I don't know about you guys, but I loves me some Sunday brunch, especially when it comes with a chance to rehash the drunken escapades of the night before. So I'm thinking of planning my departure train schedule accordingly, if everybody else is in.
