Come join us on this lazy, sunny, sunday, purple afternoon in the London sun! Cruising The River Thames accompanied by Purple Rain tribute band, who this year will be playing an EXCLUSIVE unplugged acoustic set.
Dress code for the boat is traditional summer clothing, beach party type for the more daring! flip-flops/shorts/bikinis etc etc. Ooooh and Man-kini's are more than welcome!!!
This year on the boat, we will be doing a cold finger buffet, so u won't go hungry!
The boat party will be from 2-6pm.

The evening will continue at The Elusive Camel, Victoria from 7pm, where Purple Rain will be playing their full mind blowing set. U MUST keep your boat ticket to gain entry to The Elusive Camel. NO ENTRY WITHOUT A TICKET!!!

i just wanted to point out that the afterparty venue at the elusive camel is part of the same group that owns the pigalle, where mike phillips did regular shows during the o2 residency in the summer of 2007, with other guest npg members including marva king and greg boyer,and members of the band raiyne (who's lead singer guests with basement jaxx) who appeared at one or two indigo2 aftershows with mike and npg members

the last time i was at the pigalle prince was there, so if it's good enough for prince... the pigale has also seen a number of other acts from maceo parker to more mainstream chart acts like duffy, and has hosted a number of high profile awards ceremonies and been used for a number of live music tv show performances. the venue styling is not too different from the cafe de paris, where prince recorded his beautiful strange tv performance. the camel is similarly styled, so it's a classy venue

im looking forward to getting back on the love boat with dj clinton and continuing the party at the camel, we got four new albums and a bunch of other stuff on top of what we had to select from the last time, so we'll be spinning the latest and greatest all afternoon on the boat, and all evening at the club, with of course two great performances from purple rain

i believe the set on the boat will be their first full accoustic set, which will take me back to that nite at paisley park where i saw prince follow norah jones performance with his first ever solo accoustic show, in fact the only solo accoustic show he's done if you disregard the partial sets during the musicology tour. back at the camel they will then perform a fully plugged in performance that will bring back the memories of all the great club aftershows, up close, intimate and loud, invoking the vibe from first avenue circa 1984, and 25 years on the 80's fashion revival is back in full swing, so if you can still fit in them, you can dress in the same clothes as you did when you bought that dove cry 12" and be the hippest dude or chick in the club
