Hi Baberella. I think we need a pre-meep up so we can get our purple funky selves ready to land before we get on the boat. Make a day/early evening of the event. say meet from late afternoon onwards and somewhere that’s right near the pier. Do u have any suggestion? as I know u know central London very well.

Maybe the Royal festival hall? there have loads of bars there at the botton of the hall and the boat party pier is to the left of the pic

as also just announced, there will be a pretty damn cool selection of rare video material being shown at the party. i noticed people checking the video compilation out at the june event, and people loved the videos at the edinburgh event, and i'll have a brand new selection of new and old videos at the afterparty, playing in the background whilst we play the funkiest prince tunes

outside it might be cold and chilly with the credit crunch, but inside it will be smoking hot whilst we party like it's 1999

PRE PARTY MEETUP - from 6pm - QUEEN ELIZABETH BAR, Festival Pier


VENUE 1 - MV Pridela, FESTIVAL PEIR, LONDON - The boat party with Prince tribute band Purple Rain

BOARDING TIMES 7.45pm to 8pm - the boat will leave the pier at 8pm sharp and won't return to the pier until midnite, the boat will not make any stops between 8pm and midnite whilst it sails up and down the Thames.

It's advisible that everyone is ready to board at Festival pier by 7.40pm at the latest, so you can be quickly whisked onto the love boat. It's suggested that you meet your friends at the pre meetup venue across from the pier, which starts at 6pm. No admission to the boat will be possible after 8pm, unless you carry an olympic gold medal for swimming, or you are licensed to kill and can provide formal evidence.

The closest tube stop to the pier is Waterloo station.


VENUE 2 - THIRD SPACE - 211 Clapham Road, Stockwell - The afterparty, with DJ's and Prince videos

i dunno how facebook works, but a friend pointed out that the group "Prince-The Living Legend" has about 500 members of which about 70 or so have confirmed they are attending the party, and apparently you can cyberstalk them online or something and see who's attending. apparently russel brand is no longer a friend, whatever that means

my social networking savvy friend also mentioned that the quality of the talent attending was quite good, so i presume if you are the rich owner of a struggling football team you might get a few good contacts on the night. footballers love boat parties don't they?

i've just finished editing together a specially compiled dvd for the afterparty, compiling some of the best prince moments of the last 30 years, miming, assless pants, splits, guitar solos, bee keepers hats, gold lame trousers, some of the weirdest things ever broadcast on tv, and that's just the background setting for the aftershow, which will have the funkiest mashup of purple sounds you could imagine

and before all that there is the main party, with 2 hours of live music and another 2 hours of paisley sounds, a total of 7 hours of music, plus a 2 hour pre party meetup, a total of 9 hours. this evening is sponsored by red bull and pro plus

just a few days left to go...

there is a pre boat meetup from 6pm at the queen elizabeth bar at festival pier, just opposite where the boat boards, so it's suggested that you meetup there early before the boat leaves



the boat is a short walk from the waterloo tube station, about 2 minutes i hear, and on the way back from the boat to the afterparty you get the tube from waterloo to stockwell, about 2 stops, and the afterparty venue is just across from the tube station at third space, 211 clapham road



the afterparty runs from midnite to 3am, and has the boat party dj's spinning more of the purple sounds, along to a backdrop of some of the best prince moments of the last 30 years on giant video screens



entry to the 3 hour afterparty is included with the ticket for the boat party
