I seriously think you will need to have DEDICATION to run it. Monday nights are normally DEAD nights and you'd have to really work hard to rally up peeps to come one out on a Monday night. Not like Sunday was any better, but it was easier to deal with as you were rolling off the weekend and might have Tuesday off. Not saying it can't be done, but that is a HARD night.

Also Grand and Ashland? That's a bit out there. I think Berlin could pull it off as it is already in a neighborhood where there are other bars to hop to (I am not astute of the area near Grand and Ashland) It was gay/straight friendly too. Not that that is a big deal, but I thought Berlin was perfect. I doubt this would have held up in a gay bar. Berlin has that essence that pulled in all walks of life and they have always stood out for Disco Nights, 80's night (before 80's were popular again), Dyke Night, and Prince Night (there's also a Madonna Night). I dunno, it just seemed perfect to me. And they didn't ALWAYS have a crowd...or sometimes the crowd would pick up because people just showed up wanting to party and not caring what was going on.

Good luck with what you decide to do. I really think that a better night regardless of the location (unless its way on the south side or in a bad area) would be more successful.

Speaking as a non-Chicagoan who made it to Berlin several times...

A Monday night would make it virtually impossible for anyone not from Chicago to attend. (Not that that's your primary concern...just thinking out loud.) Sunday night wasn't great, either - but at least you could make a 3-day weekend out of it without too much trouble. If the party's on Monday night, anyone from out of town who works M-F would need four days - minimum - to attend.

You know, if you can pull it off, great. I do think Monday night is VERY hard, no matter how big of a fan you are. Another person pointed out the out of towners. I myself, would try to schedule P Night during my visits and I know anyone who was a fan and visiting Chicago, would do the same. I really don't think 2 dollar drinks are enough to get all of the fans out.

say keep it going...and if u can..it would be nice to make it 18 and older instead of 21 and older.. could bring alot of fans 18 and up to this event if it happens and that would assure more $$$$!!!
