I would be. I live in Sonora now, but I drive to San Francisco on a semi-regular basis because my family is there.

"The" redwood forest, though? If you mean THE Redwood forest, you're looking at the state parks in the upper northwest of CA. Crescent City area: Jedediah Smith Redwoods, Del Norte Coast Redwoods, Prairie Creek Redwoods. Farther south (Humboldt Area ) are the Grizzly Creek Redwoods and Humboldt Redwoods. There's many other state redwood forests where I live, and we're an hour north of the bay. One of them is the Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve. Let me know if you want more details on redwood/sequoia woods closer to the bay (or the real deal up in the north--I've been to all of them and have family in both areas).

I've not been to any of the woods south of the bay, so maybe someone else here could pitch in.

We need to get this coordinated. I'd be up for dinner and/or drinks. I also am privvy to a P party out in Berkeley in Dec, I think.

Let me put my thinking cap on and see what I can come up with.

What do you all want to do? I think that way we can think of a few things.

FOr me, SF works better than East Bay, but if it's East Bay, I can BART but will need to get going back before midnight. I think if it's in the East Bay, the stop should have an SFO train and not have connections. Berkeley and DT Oakland are good choices.

For Dinner/Drinks...Tapas works for both. Although if you know of a place that had drinks nearby, that works too.
