alright people, as many as u know, Prince will b turning 50 years old next year. Since he doesn't celebrate birthdays and all likelyhood of a celebration gathering at PP doesn't sound promising.

SOOOOO ...how about we have our own celebration gathering?!! June 7th happens 2 fall on a saturday which would b perfect 2 have such an occasion and is far enough in advance 2 start organizing and saving money.

I need help tho in this adventure since I don't live in mpls but know the area pretty well. I was thinking we could either have a big bbq or rent a facility out 2 have our prince fiesta.

any ideas?

OMG, I am sooooo excited about this gathering!!!

L4, you know I'm in. I'd love to have a get together to meet some people and just have some fun. I'd like to rent out or go to a club that will play Prince and related associate music for at least one night. At this point we know Prince isn't interested in having any more "Celebrations" at Paisley Park but that doesn't mean we can't organize something. I don't know about a bbq as some people are vegetarians and that type of food doesn't cater to them. Or Mabye be could go to a restaurant that has food appeals to everyone. Or possibly a pizza party. I'd like to be able to show Prince concerts,videos or movies as well.

Let me know what I can help out with, I can drive up early in the week to check up on things if this is going to be a go.

I remember at the last celebration, we had two big huge banners that everybody signed before they were given to Prince. It would be a cool idea for all of us to do that again, since I'm sure Prince appreciated it. I was going to suggest writing messages in chalk on the Paisley Park parking lot, but who knows how soon Prince would be back in Minny to actually see it. Plus, if it rains, all of the messages would get washed away.

I just got off the phone talking to my mom. My sister-in-law's brother is getting married on the same day, June 7th of next year, in Montreal. I sure as heck am not going to that, I'd rather hang with all of you purple people, it will be A LOT more fun! It's funny though how they are both going to be on the same day.

I'm down with going to an org gathering, but do we have to make it about Prince?

In all honesty, I think I'm retiring from hosting events. I'll never say never, but I'm not in for the work to put into it at the present time.

Damn final exams! I always have them on P's birthday. This system is messed up, June 7th should b a national holiday! I wanna go . Maybe i could take them early, I'll be "at a funeral" or something that day

This sounds amazing - although have to say I would want 2 make my trip Princely purely because have always wanted to see all his old haunts.

I am hoping to be able to make a trip to America happen with Savage next year, but what with our wedding to save for and the concerts taking all our spare cash it is looking unlikely.

The .org gatherings (whether they are invasions or just meeting up with .orgers at a concert) are an event unto themselves. You can be as purple as you wanna be.
