i don't have any purple. don't know anyone

i got there about midnight. i was bored and couldn't track down any of my "spontaneous" buds, let alone some REAL Prince fans, so i came thru solo, just to check things out.

didn't seem like the ppl there were "org'ers". a few scattered about perhaps. (where was the cake?!). it seems The Token was a regular spot for most of the ppl there and this just happened to be Prince night. Great sound system and song choices by the DJ. i hoped for more blending (maybe i missed it), like when he played Controversy along with whatever that was (didn't recognize it) then played it by itself. so i didn't meet any org'ers and i felt stupid standing by myself so i bounced after about 20 mins.

Talk about hillbilly haven.. Bunch of idiots making fools of themselves. Must have been the promotion dept. Bored and left.

Well What Can I Say? Hmmm...I haven't been to a Prince Party in Ages(so it seems) and when we walked in I thought I was gonna have to dodge some pool sticks. It was kinda a rock vibe in the place with tons of tattoos and mohawks around. The Bartender was nice...the music kept stopping after every single song and then we were left to stand on the dance floor waiting for the next song to play and I don't know, it just wasn't the type of Prince party I was use to. When I wanted to dance, slow song after slow song was being played and my friend ended up nodding off at the table with a drink in her hand.

It was like a slumber party with the leather and chains.
Wooo, I can't believe I bailed out on my sisters b-day party for happy hour Iowa style (lol).

Big shouts to the dude who put this together.

Do you really now what it take to organize one of these events,btw I am sorry
that I didnt know and wasnt there to support your event.

Not every gig is a goes over well but with time and support they do
This looks like a first time party from someone else (group) in Detroit
and with more group support it may have gone over alot better.
