I was thinking about something that was said during our last night together. I felt so guilty that I ate a quarter of that cake before we even had any company. But not so guilty that I wouldn't do it again in a heartbeat. Well I did remember "grandma" but I thought maybe I was forgetting something because of Nathan's loss. That cake was yum-um-ummy Tell her we, including the little doggies, loved it! Shit just never stopped being surreal Well I was sitting there and Mavis was just speaking to my heart. She was singing about friendship and more importantly faith. My friends have helped me through these past months and have given me a great measure of faith. I'm not sure I could have had it all by myself.....
It was extremely surreal. I've met a lot of orgers, but it's usually at a common destination point or when I've visited Chicago, Minneapolis or New York. Other than Ivy's visit last year, I've never met an orger in Detroit, much less shown them around my hometown. Now THAT was surreal. Carting you big city folks around little Port Huron was so cool, but I just was hoping the whole time that you weren't going to be bored. It's funny cuz as great as Mavis and that club were, I had the best time doing low key things like hanging out at my place and Andrea's, going swimming, watching Prince vids, going to that bar, stuff like that, ya know? Thanks for keeping my anxiety level in check. It was nice to feel like we could do whatever and you and Ivy were cool with it.

I told Apples straight away that doing "regular" stuff was completely fine with me. I would rather hang out and talk and do all the things we did than to run around the city being a tourist. You guys made me feel right at home and just living the life you normally live was fantastic beyond belief for me 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Apparently a wealthy cad left money to the city to build the fountain/statue in his honor. She was explaining what a big cretan he was and how upset the city was at having to honor him and she started waving her hands around and *BAM!*. A freak rainstorm struck. We all went running to the car and Stymie and Gangsta jumped right in Gangsta's vehicle but we were locked out of the Alexis Colby and got drenched Damn, Christine you better watch your raindancin next time!
No, you're not wrong. We were at Belle Isle. I was so bummed that there was no water in the fountain and even more so that we got soaked. I really wanted to go down to the river's edge to watch the city and the sunset. Oh well, the storm makes for a better story. Between that and the 'familiar spirits' setting the sprinkler system off, we had some majorly strange and funny karma, didn't we?

That place is such a dead zone that they've gotta put something there. I actually felt bad for not cooking earlier. Nikki spent a small fortune on groceries and I really did want to cook. But I was just so engaged in whatever we were doing or talking about, that I didn't want to take the time. Turns out I was able to get it together in 20 minutes. Next time I'll know better.
