In September we're bringing our PRINCE vs MICHAEL party to San Diego. It will be on a Thursday night - $5 at the door. We've had offers from two different venues in the SD Gaslamp district. Thought I'd ask people in San Diego which venue they would prefer.

The two venues are:
- Ole Madrid
- Shaker Room at Martini Ranch.

This face-off always promises to be a dance marathon - "Kiss" takes a swing at "PYT (Pretty Young Thing)," only to be pounded by "Wanna Be Starting Somethin," which had better watch it's back when "Black Sweat" comes around.

This event was conceived four years by Bomb Hip-Hop who have successfully produced many of these parties in San Francisco as well as Seattle, Portland and Bend. Featuring music from Prince, Michael, The Time, The Jackson 5, Sheila E., Janet Jackson, Vanity 6 and many more. Who will win, The Purple One or the King of Pop? Who cares... this is the perfect night out to lounge with your friends, make some new friends, get your drink on and dance your @ss off.

DJ DAVE PAUL
Dave Paul began his music career in 1985, starting as a mobile dj and evolving into a prominent college radio and club dj in San Francisco. In 1991 he launched the now legendary company Bomb Hip-Hop. With an emphasis on the four elements of hip-hop, Dave Paul created the archetypal independent company, encompassing everything from management to an online store, concert promotion to magazine, merchandise to a record label. He has been featured in URB magazine, CMJ, XLR8R, appeared on the front cover of Billboard, and is featured in the motion picture SCRATCH. Dave Paul has dj'ed throughout the US, toured Europe and the UK, and currently produces a Prince vs Michael party series. Specializing in music from the 70's-90's era, his record selection ranges from rock, new wave and alternative to hip-hop, dance and soul. Be it a nightclub, corporate event, wedding or private party deejay Dave Paul always comes prepared and delivers a top notch performance.

DJ JEFF HARRIS
Beginning his professional music career in 1985, Jeff Harris established himself as one of the top DJ's in Northern California. First with the prominent mobile music company Good Vibrations, remaining with the organization until 1990. Jeff is a veteran of over 1,000 performances as a mobile and club DJ. Specializing in weddings, Mr. Harris is also highly skilled in performing at corporate events, anniversaries, birthday parties, nightclubs, and other special events requiring professional music entertainment. While attending college Jeff became the Music Director of influential college station KCSF, helping to establish the CHR-urban/Hip Hop radio format that would be adapted by P-1 radio giant KMEL to which Jeff Harris served as a consultant to the programmers during the early 90's. From radio, Jeff crossed over into the record business in 1991 working for major label Polygram Group Distribution, followed by marketing & promotion stints for Allegro Corporation and Innovative Distribution Network. Through it all, Jeff's deep passion for music has never wavered, as he has continued his career as a deejay and is a well known and respected music historian within the Bay Area music community.

We also have the opportunity to present the party at either Whistle Stop or Beauty Bar as well. What's the scoop on those 2 places... anyone?
